#97: I don't know when it will be released. It is hoped that it'll be released sometime this weekend.
Wow, y'all are definitely putting Retroarch through its paces. For the person asking about AI verses OCR, basically I'm pretty sure this either greyscale the image, making it easier for the ZTranslate's OCR, or if it doesn't, then yeah screen reader's OCR is better except for one point.
If I'm laying in bed, playing through Terra's story mode for the thousandth time, I don't really want to drag this voluminous body out of bed and to the keyboard just to attempt to press the R key before something else happens. With Retroarch, we've achieved something that the great Microsoft has not, AI OCR bound to a controller button! Yes, you can find that hotkey to an Xbox button and not have to reach for the keyboard.
Hi.
Hmm ok, that's a plus I agree.
wondering if installing RA to an SSd might improve the ps2 cores performance? I really want to play my old mLB stuff again.
Do you think it would be possible in the future to make the AI announce the current element you are focused on or is that out of the question completely?
Greetings Moritz.
Hi all. I now have a Github repository where we can document accessible games using Retroarch and OCR and such. Hopefully this will be a central repository for retro game knowledge, not just a list of games, but a also saves, how to play the games using sound and OCR and such, yes including menu guides.
First off to everyone having problems with the ps2 core, I hate to say it, but you need a powerful computer to run ps2 games, if pcsx2 doesn't work for you, then chances are retro arch's ps2 core won't work as well.
And that key binding thing is cool in all, til your playing a playstation game or some such thing were all the keys on your controller are being used for something. Then your still stuck walking to the keyboard, so why not OCR, which is local, free, and much faster, also I think their should be an option added to automatically translate without the need to press a hotkey Cause honestly that's what's holding me back right now, it's the same reason I don't play emulated games using NVDA OCR Cause constantly having to press a hotkey to get my screen is rather tedious at times. I feel like I spend half my time recognizing screens rather then actually playing the game.
Will someone please answer my question about Cheats. I have laid out exactly how I tried to get them to work in an earlier post.
The built-in OCR thing is more useful than you guys seem to realize. Yes, NVDA has built-in OCR functionality that is quick and works reasonably well. Thing is, to my knowledge, that's the only screen reader that does. Not only on Windows but on all platforms. Retroarch is cross-platform, and VO users have nothing like NVDA'S OCR thing.
which N64 cor do I want I found Nintendo 64 parallel cor and Nintendo 64 Mupen64Plu. is their a way of going to the cor you want with out pressing down arrow?
I'm pretty sure the majority of questions asked on this thread can be answered by the wiki, a google search, or the various Retroarch communities around. Can we limit this thread to issues specific to the accessibility features in case the person working on them pops back in?
#111: from a quick Google search, I found this:
https://www.howtogeek.com/180167/htg-ex … se-it-for/
That should tell you what it is, and what it's for.
#107: See this documentation on cheats. If this doesn't help, got to Retroarch's Github and create an issue about it.
Okay, first revision of game guide for Dissidia Final Fantasy is up. Should I make a new thread for this? Anyways, I wanted to get the ball rolling, so here's that:
https://github.com/devinprater/accessib … es-list.md
For anyone who wants to contribute, link to main page is:
https://github.com/devinprater/accessible-retro-games
If a new thread is created, I just would want to use that to announce new games added. That just branched from this Retroarch Accessibility project, so that's why I'm posting about this first thing here.
@113: you should include psp button notations for dissidia, in case someone is trying to play it on official hardware. I bought the game thrice lol, twice physically, and once digitally when I got my vita with a 64 gb memcard.
#114: I cannot keep up with which button is which? For a moment, I got confused between the "X" button on Xbox controllers, the one on the left... I think... And the X button on PS controllers, the one on the bottom. If you'd like to include that notation, that'd be great, but don't replace the simpler Xbox version, please.
Is anyone able to run 3ds games on Retroarch? I've googled iit and it seems like I am not the only one who is having problems.
Basically after loading a game it is kicking me in to the main menu and crashing the retroarch.
For future reference, the xbox to playstation button conversion is as follows: cross is a, circle is b, triangle is y, square is x. All other buttons remain the same. I dont have an account there so cant edit.
Also having the same problem with 3ds. Probably going to wait for the official version to release, as hopefully that fixes my crashing issue.
Hi guys. I wasn’t initially going to download this because I thought it was going to be another one of those talking Linux distros that clutters the Internet. Anyway, I have it installed and I have the accessibility enabled. What now? What emulators should I use and what games should I play? I would like to avoid playing fighting games if possible. Please help?
Thanks. Can you maybe explain to me how I can actually get these games working? Also, how would I be able to judge security of website where I can get the games? I’m not asking for anything, just asking how I can make sure that I stay safe.
For the youtube video that showed final fantasy. Does anyone know what core it was using? I also can't get the OCR to work I pasted my key to where it should go in that CFG file. Do I have to set a hotkey first?
