@toto, here's the new download link of LOTR itself, if that's what you need. I wasn't aware they changed it:

Yes. Many have very nice soundtracks entirely separate from the main game.

The game had a new patch adding diseases, including Black Death, and a DLC adding legends.
The mod is updated, for both patch and DLC.

I bit the bullet and bought CK3, but... blah. I gotta sign up for a Paradox account, on Steam? Annoying since they probably could've just used Steam Cloud.

Does anyone know why NVDA's OCR keeps seeing screen that aren't open any more? For example, it currently scans an email I opened in thunderbird... but thunderbird is definitely not open. It's kind of been ruining my OCR experience with games that need it, and I have no idea how to fix it.

82. If you don't have a screen attached to your PC it will happen. Or if you use a laptop you have to open so that the screen works. after that you'll be OK

2024-03-16 13:19:54

Huh. Thanks. I'll give opening my laptop screen a try. That's whacked, because my old laptop did OCR fine with or without the screen active. I'm assuming it's the dedicated graphics card in this gaming PC that relies on the screen status?

If you have a weird screen setup in any way the OCR can get confused. It may think you have multiple monitors and not scan the right one etc.

The Paradox account is not strictly necessary.

Yep, opening the laptop screen fixed it. How strange.
So many new things to learn though! It's quite daunting.

Unrelated to CK3, but I wonder if a mod like this could be developed for Rimworld? That game looks like tons of fun, too.

I know someone was talking about RIMWORLD modding at one point but it was just theoretical and so far as I know no one has done it. I know there's a bit more scripting support than CK, so it should be possible to do something like what the Factorio access mod does, and communicate with NVDA.

so, can you play for awhile without the DLCS?

Blindness isn't a disability, but a diffrent way of seeing things

2024-03-20 22:09:38

yeah, defonitly.
even without the DLCS, their's plenty of content to keep you playing for an incredible amount of time.

2024-03-20 22:14:08

Not to mention game mods add a whole boatload of other content on top of the official DLCs.

2024-03-20 22:52:23

That's true.
I don't think AGOT or LOTR mods require any dlcs.

This is the last day to get CK3 for 60% off. It's just about the end of sale, only 5 hours left as of this writing. Get it while you can, this is the deepest discount the game's ever had.

Hmmm, I'm on the fence on getting this game, cause when I listen to the you tube on the first post, it seemes as if he wasn't even clicking anything  justwent to next round and that was it.   Is there a you tube of somebody starting from the start and playing the game normal?

2024-03-25 14:05:44

also, is there a direct link to download the mods?

On thunderstep gaming, we have a playlist for the game.
We have one fully completed campaign, a few random multiplayer/modded streams, and a current ongoing campaign.  Follow the link in my signiture to find those.
The mod is found on github, or on the steam workshop, I don't have a link handy, but their posted on the Accessible Crusades discord.

Sorry, I don't listen to your you tube cause of the speech is going so fast that it sounds like its coming out of a gassy back side.  I can't stand when folks run there speech that fast.  *laughs*  I've only been blid for nearly 19 years and still don't run my speech that fast.  Though my speech seems too fast for a sighted person to keep up as well, though not to the point that it sounds like its being farted out with no pauses.

I guess I'll get the game, since from what I'm reading on this thread its has a tutorial to learn the game.

2024-03-25 15:41:36

Oh, we always slow the speed down significantly, and noone has mentioned an issue with it.
Could you have a look at the most recent video and let me know if that's still too fast for you?

2024-03-25 16:28:29

Yeah. The older Thunderstep streams used to be very fast if I remember but the newer ones seem slower, or perhaps I'm just getting used to it.

2024-03-25 17:00:18

I have a slightly slower speed than Luceus for streams, but I don't think their was a major change.

2024-03-25 17:32:16

This first one I listen to was a year ago, I just listen to the one three weeks ago after skipping over a hour and 40 mins of nothing but talking, and got to the game play, nope still too fast.  I run my NVDA around at 62.

I want to make sure I hear every word, since well I have to stream everything through my hearin aids as it is.  and I ain't no spring chicken either tongue.
