That, is a crapton of information. I'll probably wait till I play before I go through it all, but I'm quite excited about this.

@ianhamilton_, it has some simularities but there's a bit more info nicely made into headings instead of tables.
The other post has video links though.
This is quite impressive!
It's clear to me that blind testers and consultants were a significant part of this, as some of those systems get into details that most sighted devs just don't think of.
Good on everyone who helped make this happen, and good on Naughty Dog for going for it all the way!
This is quite impressive, i'm really curious to see how the features work out, any chance we could get a peek sometime on Sony's internal metrics on accessibility use? Heh. I'm still wondering how the navigation and aiming cues work though, the videos didn't quite illustrate those.
Extremely impressive. The coverage of different disabilities looks excellent.
To those of you worried about difficulty, consider a much, much simpler and less accessible example. In the Mass Effect trilogy, you can tweak the difficulty such that enemy encounters are virtually impossible to lose. It becomes just something you do for the sake of progressing story. Purists will say that you're wrecking the game by skipping puzzles or making combat easy, and if your game lives and dies by your mechanics, then okay, fine. But Mass Effect didn't and doesn't; you get as much out of it as you want to.
And this game is no different. If you want to play the game but are really not big into having a challenge - I know a few people here who are like this, and no harm to them for it either in this instance - then you can do it and enjoy yourself without having to deal with someone's arbitrary decision that you have to experience the game this way and at this particular difficulty. This is, in a sense, also a commitment from Naughty Dog that their game does not live and die by its mechanics. They expect you to enjoy the game for its story and whatnot, not just for how easy it is to find ammo, shoot enemies or explore maps.
Now, when shit like this happens for RPGs that aren't shooters, I'm going to be all over it. But I don't have the disposable income for a PlayStation or the game itself, sadly, so while I'll listen to a playthrough at some point, I won't be picking this one up.
Hi.
I'm so excited about this, and it's difficult to wait to the 19th of June. I'm getting a ps4 for this game only.
hi,
pity it will be ps4 only, as i'm not spending money on a console just for one game. I'm a pc gamer so I have all my games on steam / elsewhere. Still props to the devs for doing their best to make it as accessible as possible. Looks interesting but I don't have a ps4. Seems i'll have to ask one of my friends if I can try it out on theirs
I'm probably gonna play on either easy or normal, because I want some challenges. Clickers (one of the infected type) OKO you though so this will be interesting.
clickers KO you but there's a way to kill them and get around them.
I think this game will be great but AD would make it tuns better in my oppinion. There's going to be many cut scenes and it might be hard to follow the story but it will be fun either way.1 1
We could always look at a playthrough. I'm gonna take what I get. Seriously, this is gonna be phenomenal.
AD would be nice, but to me it's a luxury at this point.
For those who have asked about previews and the like, I plan on streaming this at midnight Eastern on the 19th.
This is super exciting.
yeah, I agree with you liam.
Will the stream be saved for those of us who miss it?
yes. That's the plan.
I'm glad I'm borrowing my aunties ps4 but I will need to buy a TV, controler, and pare of playstation aproved headphones.
That's going to set me back at least £150 or more, this is the part where I wish i'd not spend so much on takeaway (takeout,) oh well, I'll at least get to play the game... Oh crap, I preordered the game and as far as I know; that means it doesn't take my money out of my bank until the 19th, right?
I hope I can get my nan to help me out on this. The things we do for gameing
you literally don't need a tv. It also doesn't matter what headphones you use.
im so excited! Thank you ianhamilton for your help to the devs and your part in making this game accessible for all!
@stirlock, well I have a tv on the way, oops. Oh well, at least it will be good for watching things.
By the way; how long does one charge on your controler last?
Are you 100 percent sure about the bluetooth headphones? From what i've read, sony only supports certain headphones and the wrest need you to fiddle around with dongles and things like that.
I'll ask at the game shop when I go there for a sony supported headset, that way I know that it will work 100 percent with the game.
Bluetooth headphones should work, last time I tested my old ones did, but I usually use wired ones.
@Aron Leppik I'm quite sure you have to use a sony branded headphone set. i've read online that you have to anyway.
I prefer bluetooth because it gives me more freedom but I understand why people still like wired.
You can set it up so that the audio is transmitted to your controller and plug a wired headset into it with a jack.
Everyone,
Brandon Cole just released a Break Down Walls episode discussing the audio cues, etc in-depth, with felloe forumite Stirlock.
@Orin, thanks! I'm going to check it out, I bet it will be amazing!
