Hello all!
I am fairly new here, in the audiogame comunity, so can you recommend me some games, for example some good shooting games, or some good RPGs? I know that probably a lot of people posted that kind of topics already, but still.

I recommend audio strike for a shooter, an if you're using nvda and dont mind snagging the Japanese game translater  plugin, I recommend shadow line, often referred to around here as shadow rine, but that's its Engrish name big_smile

Both games are free.

Also guys, since this is a new audiogamer, it might be helpful to not fall back on acronyms that would probably be unknown to a newcomer, and on that note, ahc is short for a hero's call.

Hmm, what are those games about. i mean, do all of them have a storyline or something.

I would recommend manamon as an rpg, psycho strike (or shooter cd, which is free)
you can find shooter cd on

you can find both psycho strike and manamon, as well as a free but challenging audio side scroller called adventure at c: on
http://vgstorm.com
also on masonasons.me is another good sidescroller, however paid, called tomb hunter. there is a free one there too called crime hunter.
there is also an audiogame called road to rage which can be found on
http://iamtalon.me
he also has another good audiogame called cyclepath
lots more are on
http://oriolgomez.com
and also, looking for a blast from the past? almost every single audiogame that has ever been around is on
httpL//agarchive.net
is that enough? yes? too bad. there are 1600+ more on the main site at
http://audiogames.net
I also created an accessible cookie clicker game, which can be found on my website, at

Hi, welcome to the AudioGames community! smile I hope you'll like it here. It's certainly not without its drama — no place is — but there's plenty of fun to be had and plenty of pleasant people to meet.

For RPGs, the first one that comes to mind is one that was already suggested, A Hero's Call. It's your usual RPG with classes and turn-based combat, but also an interesting story and great voice acting. Since I don't think there is a demo, you can check out a let's play by PG13 to see what it's like.
You can find its entry in the database here, and you can find its homepage, which I think is currently the only place you can buy it, here.

The second one would be Entombed, a dungeon crawler which, while somewhat unbalanced and buggy, is still incredibly fun. It used to be for sale, but is now shareware, so you should be able to upgrade it by creating an account and choosing the upgrade option from inside the menu.
You can find the database entry here and its homepage here. If you ever get stuck, you could try checking its wiki.

For shooters, I suggest World of War, an space invader shooter with several trophies and minigames to unlock. It's from a Japanese developer, so all of the voice acting (mostly in the unlockable movies) is in Japanese, but the game itself is in English.
The database entry is here and the developer's homepage (not everything is translated) is here.

And lastly, while it is neither a RPG, nor a shooter, it is pretty much tradition at this point that I recommend Code 7 whenever I can, so I shall do so here, too!
Code 7 is a story-rich hacking text adventure with fully voice acted dialog, a science fiction with elements of mystery and horror. You play as Alex, a hacker with amnesia that, together with the help of their friends, tries to save humanity from a complete annihilation. It is being released in episodes, with episodes 0-3 already out, and episode 4, the last one, planned ... uh, sometime in Q2, hopefully? You can play Episode 0: allocation for free, and while it is the shortest one, it'll still give you a pretty good idea about what the game is like.
Here is the database page. You can grab the game from several places, such as itch.io, Steam and Humble Store.

There is a search feature that'll, among other things, also allow you to search by genre. You can find it here. I haven't used it in a while though, so am not certain how well it works. It sometimes does, sometimes doesn't.

Yes, I definitely left the forum. Mhm. Why would you have any doubt?

Hi and, once more, welcome to the forum !
I fully agrea with post 7 about code 7. It's probably the only fully accessible game you'll find with a complexe storyline. I'm affraid dev care much more about the number of bullets you shoot in an audiogame than the number of emotions you feel.
If you don't mind japanese translated games, I suggest you bokurano dayboukenn. Eventhough the first one might sound a little old, the two next opus certainly deserve to figure among the best games of the decade.
World of war has allready been suggested, I tend to say that judgement day, from l works studios, is a little better in terms of ambiance, even if I really do appreciate both of them.

I don't think it deserves an entiere topic so I'd rather ask here by the way, is audiostrike worth trying? I gave it a shot a few years ago, but the gameplay sounded quite strange to me, and I wasn't sure if it had many different missions to offer. Do you have any strategy about how to start with this game?

Best regard,
Simon

I think that audio strike is similar in gameplay to villains from beyond, in that it is a vertically scrolling shooter, meaning that you can move left to right as the enemy and hazards scroll towards you in a vertical fashion. I've heard it compared to something like space invaders, but it's much more than that as you are progressing through environments. My advice to you is to try out the different ships and see what suits your style. Additionally, if things are too fast and hectic, you can choose a lower difficulty to get your bearings, and you can decrease the speed of the game to give you more time to dodge hazards and attacks. Each mission has several sections to progress through, so try to remember which obstacles are coming, and pay attention to the bosses attack patterns as well. You can also purchase powerups with ingame currency to give you an advantage. Audio strike is not an easy game, but it's one that comes quite close to replicating the mainstream vertical shooting experience similarly to something like the salamander series. It even has graffics and I think controller support.

If you want an AHC playthrough, you can watch the videos by Liam Erven. Note however that both videos give spoilers, so don't watch them if you don't want spoilers
