Subject says it all. If you could only play one game for the rest of your life, doesn't matter the platform, what would it be and why?

For me, slay the spire. I think it's complex enough with a lot to learn, that I'd always find room for it. It's calm enough and tense enough that it offers a good balance and I've only just scratched the surface after playing it for 3 months. The audio is clear enough that I could play it even with bad hearing and most importantly,, it's fun enough that I keep coming back to it.

i would really learn to play it but, i currently don't have any,

the torch of hope.

No game at all. I would end up being bored. smile

I think it would be cosmic rage, due to the fact that muds are easier to add new stuf to then audio games. This makes the game stay interesting.

Awesome, you made it to the end!

I'd probably say Bokurano Daiboukenn 3, if I had to choose one. Sadly, while there's a tun of content in that game, it's not unlimited. I would absolutely get board before long.

For me Dawncaster.
Btw Ednun, I found that Dawncaster is much bigger than Slay the Spire in terms of content. Or do you use the game with mods to expand the content? If so, which mods are accessible with the Say the Spire mod?

Kind regards!

I agree. as much as you could figure out plenty of combination on slay the spire, I think dawncaster still wins on replayable value.
as for the topic, I don't know really, I never stick into a particular game. I would say stardew vally, but it can become repetitive after sometimes, I guess it is also the case for all, if not, most games. I wish to stick into one mud or MMORPG that is under ongoing development with consistent changes, but I don't really discover my home yet.

2024-03-26 23:16:43

quentinC playroom, It's not even a hard choice because for the last months I've never played anything else other than it and maybe a little bit hearthstone here and there, but not much. Not because playroom is exactly exciting, but because I use it as a chat client of sort.

Diablo 4 all the way my friend

If I can play just one game for the rest of my life, I rather don't play It at all. I have better  things  to do  than sit and play  something that endlessly repeat for the rest of my life

Hard pick, tbh. But may be a certain mud everyone knows I'm always on.

the thing about sts vs dawncaster, for me at least, is that dawncaster is upfront with story and the lore is more obvious. The run is lengthier and the asthetics in general is more flavorful. Sts lies more in the mystery realm. You igure out the story by lore pieces from things you encounter. Runs are shorter but more varying and random in terms of bosses and contents, even with dawncaster having more mobs. You can guess who you're up against at the end of an act in dc. You can't in sts. You know it when you see it. And the biggest thing, dc is on phone and I hate playing anything on phone. I have dc and every single expansion of it though.

Why do ghost hunters have to hunt ghosts? Well, there's a fear of being ghosted out there. They may need therapy as well as their ghost hunting kit.

Oh boy... That depends. I can't narrow it down to one since no game has really hooked me forever, but yeah here are some possible answers I would've given at different times.

If you'd asked me in 2022, my answer would be Crazy Party. But that eventually got really boring because most of the people I played with fell into one of three categories: A, they were insanely competitive to the point where it quit being fun, B, they had insane skills and beat me every time, or C, they presented me absolutely no challenge. While I don't play every game with a hard core competitive spirit, I do enjoy friendly competition, and for this reason I  feel better when I'm with someone who's roughly equal to me, where the winner is impossible to guess.

If you'd asked me in 2023, I would've said Mist World. I played that day in and day out for 6 months, and then after that I took a week on and a week off for a long while too. But it got boring and not fun for several reasons. especially when you're at level 77 like me. It's getting to the point now where free play is an absolutely huge drag because crafting better gems is an absolute nightmare, and I'm just getting tired of each level taking so long to get through. I've only paid like $35 in my whole time of playing mw as well, (purchasing vip 3 times and buying a gift box for a friend), so yeah, I have no paid items other than the diamonds I got from vip... And yeah, we all know how much money they make off of people who can afford to buy a crap ton of gems and enhancing their eq to epic/heavenly/godblessed levels or what have you. That and some other things have pretty much turned me off from the game, which is a damn shame, because the stuff that initially intrigued me to death when I started still tugs at me to come back. I'd love to see the new areas and dungeons and hear the new sounds, and see if other dynamics happen later on, but at this point I can't be bothered to keep grinding. My char is still up though so we'll see, maybe after a long break I'll bounce back.

Right now, if I could only play one game, it would probably be something idle or incremental. A few months ago it would've been antimatter dimensions (until I got to the reality phase and ran into massive accessibility problems). Right now I'm alternating between Crafting Kingdom and Idle Iktah, and if I could only have one, it would probably be the latter since CK is, um, very grindy and monotonous too. But at least monotony is the actual nature of that game. Another game I'd consider putting on the table is Swordy Quest... But I've heard that is hella grindy too. I'm at level 20 ish now and I can already see myself getting bored with it. So yeah, I guess my final decision, at least at this moment, would be Idle Iktah. Now let's see how long I could go without regretting that choice big_smile

Make more of less, that way you won't make less of more!

I too wish that dawncaster is on pc.

2024-03-27 07:56:23

Only hades! hades! haaaaadeeeeeees!

2024-03-27 09:46:11

Hearthstone of course. every two years the experience would vary greatly. therefore, it will be always less boring in the more expensive than any other game.

2024-03-27 09:52:15

I wanted to pick hades as well, but there are a few things I usually take into consideration when choosing something, including my mental health at the time of the playing. Given I have some kind of family issue and mental illness o deal with and the story can be triggering under certain circumstances on my bad days, certain scenes, for example, it may end up leaving me with 0 game to play that day instead of 1 and that's not what I want.

Why do ghost hunters have to hunt ghosts? Well, there's a fear of being ghosted out there. They may need therapy as well as their ghost hunting kit.

2024-03-27 10:50:49

can I choose an app? choice of games? I know it's not really a game more like an adventure book, but there's so much content! I bought so many damn games from these folks.

Daaaaaaawncaaaaaaaaasteeeeeer! HAHA!

2024-03-27 11:31:00

none. every game will eventually become boring.

2024-03-27 14:08:14

Hades is an interesting one. I like it, but not sure there's enough there to keep me hooked. The story eventually runs out and you'd remember aall the lines of dialogue after a while. Heck I used to skip through a couple of irritating characters when I 1st started, Hipnose for example. I do love it though, really must complete the prologue at some point.

2024-03-27 15:29:45

if I had the usable vision to play it, or if it could be made accessible, I think I'd have to say Eve online for me. That's one of the games that I would absolutely love to play right this minute if I learned that it was going to be made accessible or if there were a mod out there to make it so.

2024-03-27 16:23:28

I would say either alter aeon or unofficial squaresoft mud. I keep coming back tto these muds and they both have lot of content and theey keep adding stuff to alter.

2024-03-27 17:26:50

I'ld play Sidelines or downcaster if this one would get accessibility updates like, for example, the possibility of changing the voice speed. Let's see what will come next. About sidelines, I think that's the best soccer game I have in my Android Phone; i simply love it for its accessibility.

@23: I believe sidelines  is online, right? can you watch the match and read the commentary?

2024-03-28 03:29:36

Back when I was sighted, I probably would have said Tetris. It's repetitive as hell, but it never gets old, and depending on the game settings, it can be either relaxing or adrenaline pumping, and it works equally well in 5 minute bursts while waiting for something or as part of an all-night gaming jam. Plus, it runs on just about everything and has had numerous variant rule sets introduced over the years.

Match 3 puzzlers would be another contender, though again, I'm not aware of any version that is blind playable... and while I imagine replacing symbols with Letters and presenting the game as a terminal application could go a long way in doing so, there's only so big of a board that can be reviewed efficiently reading by line with a screen reader, and good luck doing so for games with an element of clear the screen faster than it fills... Still, even if it only had the puzzle mode, I'd love to revisit Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack/Puzzle League... and an algorithm that could generate random puzzles and find optimal solutions would logically add a ton of replay ability.

A solitaire card game collection or a casino simulator would be another contender if I could find an accessible version with a lot of included games.

Speaking in general, my ideal forever game would likely be some kind of abstract puzzle game, especially one where there are multiple style of puzzle built-in or a way of generating unlimited puzzles... problem is, I don't know of many accessible ones beyond some of the projects I made in college, and those are too rudimentary to hold up.
