@rings2006 or you know, you could just let it be and try and not start shit up. Seriously things don't have to be a problem if you don't make them a problem.
oh i'm just doing this because of the hypocrisy of moderators removing references to blindhelp but not this one
More successful than blindhelp could ever be you say? Thank you so much for telling me about this terrible website so I can avoid it.
yeah yeah, i'm aware that this is simply telling people about it
Wow, English speaking moderators know about an english website but not about a Spanish one? That's so strange, how could that possibly happen?
never said they didn't know, plus, google translate exists
I would have just contacted a moderator/admin privately about this if that hasn't been done already. There's no reason for this to be done publicly unless you're simply wanting to cause trouble for the sake of it, especially since you're deliberately providing a link to a site that should be banned due to piracy.
Yeah I was trolling in my last post, I've known about this place for 10 years. I thought everybody did tbh.
dont really care, why should blindhelp be band and not this
no you didn't, still my logic though
As far as I know, and this is if we are talking about the automatic filter, BHP, Jeff's site and the famous vault are banned. The second one no longer evern exists.
Just saying, but banning said sites won't do squat. I mean what's the point in banning when people just access them off forum anyways if they decide to access them?
As far as the vault site... Shouldn't that be more of a gray area? I mean, most old movies aren't audio described through legal channel's or providers but they are on this site so... Shouldn't that technicly be a gray area? Although it does contain shit that is audio described on legal channels so I guess not from that standpoint, but it is still somewhat of a gray area, when the studios etc, that should be responsible for this... even old titles... don't do their job.
I mean, banning of x or y, won't do squat. Ever, and this one is more in general but, when something is banned, what do people usually do? Vpn. The only way to completely ban something would be to take said piracy site down for good, completely off the internet. However people seem to think that, oh, banning is the solution to stop piracy... yeah its not. Banning of stuff is just a bandage, so to speak. It helps but doesn't solve the real problem.
because then the forum will be providing a platform to generate traffic on the legitimate websight and that could have leagle conciquences.
even if its not logical, its still a group being hypocrites, as, why ban a few piracy websites but not this one?
We've known this for years because they haven't banned Crazy Party links yet despite cracking down on some other stuff, threatening to crack down on some other stuff, threatening to finally crack down on CP... You haven't done anything original or necessary or good here, only advertised a piracy website. I imagine you might get a warning for that, to be honest.
dont really care, why should blindhelp be band and not this
If you're that concerned about it, then I still say that contacting someone from the admin or moderation team would have been the best option. Failing that, the name of the site could have been provided instead of a direct link. However...
oh i'm just doing this because of the hypocrisy of moderators removing references to blindhelp but not this one
That shows that you're just doing this out of spite and are breaking the rule because you can at this point. It's really not making yourself look good at all, in my opinion. It sucks that there's a bit of a double standard in some cases, but going about this the way you have wasn't the best idea.
OF all the things you call the mods out for being hypocritical. Not sensoring an obscure website? Do better.
Okay. First, note that the forum ban on piracy websites is less about stopping piracy, and more about protecting the forum from potential legal storms. Perhaps the procedures are a bit draconian, but copyright legislation is equally as tough. That being said, the forum doesn't have to stop piracy. What you do off forum can't hurt the forum, only you. In that regard, if the law cares enough or the copyright holders are interested, they can deal with it. It will be the pirate liable for damages not the forum. That's the key take away. Bans protect the forum, not stop piracy. That is their purpose. By all accounts, the site would be banned, but a filter script is not going to cover every website.
