Hello. Apparently Montezuma's Revenge will be shipping by the end
of the week. The price is now $45 for those who haven't preordered.
Registration keys will be mailed out when the games ship. You can download
the manual and a trailer from alchemygamestudios.com.
you mean it's on disk?
what if you don't like the game, won't it be
hard to return?
i do want to play it, but i'd like a demo so i know i'd
like it, or not.
but well, as long as the game comes out, what does it
matter.

not sure if he actually means it'll be on disc, i think he will make a
downloadable demo.
They'll be a demo, i read on blindgamers there will be an unlockable demo.
But...$45? For that money sighted people get full 3D games with top of the
line graphics, tons of options, unlimited ways to play the game, ETC. And
what do we get, another side scroller? Uh...um...A little weird. But at
least its coming out, I'll have no problem buying the game but if they
don't send me that registration key I'll be really mad! Well, I'm glad
its finally coming out...

it would probably be a demo. in the documentation it said there was a demo,
which allows you to play the first 2 levels only. the documentation sounds
good at least.

that's good i think we need more side
scrollers.
i'm not thrilled with the 45 dollar thing, i can pay it, no
problem but it's a little steep.
now all we have to wait for is max

Actually it's either/or. I remember in the description it said you could
choose for it to be a sidescroller or a 3.D or whatever the opposite is. I
plan on buying it but it probably won't be for a while if it's gonna be
forty-five bucks. I'll pay it, mind, but not until I know I can without
messing up things I need to do.
They are going to be releasing a two temple demo "later this week" (so I
guess tomorrow or maybe SUnday?) and the price change will occurr on Monday.
THe registered version will be separate and downloadable securely by
customers of the game - it will still be shipped on CD.

documentation it says about temples and things, but.... hmm..
any thoughts
about this? do you think it is more than 1 temple?
has anyone else not been able to gain access to general forum the past
day?
i kept on getting this error message. i could access guestroom, but
not general.
so, is it a downloadable game, because i don't want to buy it
unless i know how long it's gonna take me to recieve the goods.

Personally I'm going to wait until it is definitely shipping despite the
$15 price increase - preordering is only necessary if there is going to be a
limited stock and since this is sold right from him ther isn't which makes
it useless in my book. Thus I am not ordering until Monday or whenever he
says it's shipping.

it's still $34.99. Maybe I should get it while it lasts? They seem to be
serious about it coming out this time... And, we will get the game
eventually, or they'll have to give usback our money, its probly illegal to
steal people's money, right?
There's an announcement at the top of the topic list about the
downtime.
And Mike, that comment about stealing people's money was a
little below the belt.
And everyone please remember mainstream developers
have a good size team, accessible games are often written by only one or two
people. The mainstream games also get more sales, so they can charge less
for an equivelant product. Let's not argue about this again...

very good point CX2. Most AG developers are just one or two people, which
obviously makes things harder. Well, I'll buy Monty when I feel I can
afford to.

the fact that we "have to" buy a 45 dollar game because we have no other
games to comper it with makes my "Light" motivation stronger - you'll soon
understand!
OK, now we're still waiting and it's still not released. I don't know if
that's a serious company, because I also sent an E-mail to them, but they
didn't answer. I hope they didn't answer because they're working on this
game all the time.

please be patient, I know it is a bit anoying that you are waiting for a
long time, but an AudioGame developer have a real life too.
The feeling is
more efficient, when the game will be released.
I can imagine that
thousands of post will say:
"Hey, buy this game immediatelly! It is
cool!"
Okay, just kidding, but our best friend is the patience, isn't
it?

you're right, but I was searching for "Montezuma's Revenge
Alchemygamestudios" in the internet and I found out that people are already
waiting for Y E A R S!!! Sorry, but I think those people from Alchemy are
just interested in stealing your money! If you send an E-mail to them, they
don't answer. I also tried to call them, but the number on the website
doesn't exist.
Just clarifying they've only been waiting for one "y e a r."

I was under
the impression that Alchemy was an established company. In either case
there's certainly no evidence to show any wrong doing or deception. I'll
say this for one more time:
the non release or delay of a game is *not*
evidence that it doesn't exist! No software development project, including
games, ever goes as planned. And finally, the non release or delay of a game
is *not* evidence of a company's intention to defraud
anyone.
Accusations like this are likely to send yet more developers into
the "Why bother" stage. I'm not saying we should pussy foot around
developers, but remember they are humans as well and deserve the same
courtesy that you expect from them. These aren't the faceless companies of
mainstream games and Microsoft, these are often individuals, and if they get
nothing but insults for their work (which by the way is not their main job)
they are likely to decide it just isn't worth the effort.
I suggest
people stop these "doubt-flameath9ons" whilst we still have developers left.
If you can't handle that then at least be courteous in your phrasing, or
better yet don't post at all. This goes equally for everyone.

sent 2 E-Mails to them and they never answered. I also tried to call them
but this number doesn't exist. I think their address is also wrong. What
can I do if I send them an E-Mail that I want my money back and they don't
answer me? Look what's on their order site:
"Montezuma's Revenge is
currently shipping and is on sale for $34.95 plus shipping and handling.".
This is a lie for sure, because it isn't released yet. Of course I can
wait, I also waited until DraconisEntertainment was finished without making
posts like that, but I hate people telling lies.
Have
you considered that the problems might have been last minute, and they
haven't had chance to change it on their site? Please don't make
accusations of deception unless you have a little something called
*evidence*
No matter what will happen now, I want my money back. Do you have an idea
how to do that because Alchemy doesn't answer my E-mails?
