Glad you enjoyed it, and that makes sense about the strategies.
Regarding the narrators, I will write out a script for the entire episode and send it.  After they record the narration, they send it back to me and I edit it.
There's usually a lot of funny outtakes in there, so it's kind of becoming a tradition to post the outtakes at the end of the video.  Also Baldur's Gate usually has some really funny dialogue responses that you have the option to give people, so I'm trying to remember to include some of those in the outtakes as well.

Hey all,

Started this game Elden Ring kind of on a whim, seems like a great game so figured I'd record it in case anyone wants to hear about it.  It will be described as more of an open-world journey.  FF7 and Baldur's Gate are still ongoing.

Elden Ring:

Intro & character creation is at the end of the video.

That is absolutely perfect. Always wanted to know what exactly happens. Just one question: Are you planning to describe a playthrough of this game? Because as I heard that takes ... a very long time even if you don't explore and you still have your FF7 and Baldours Gate projects.

We are pleased, that you made it through the final challenge, where we pretended we were going to murder you. We are throwing a party in honor of your tremendous success. Place the device on the ground, then lay on your stomach with your arms at your sides. A party associate will arrive shortly to collect you for your party. Assume the party submission position or you will miss the party.

Hey targor, glad you liked it.  I enjoy playing Elden Ring and will continue. Might be the best open world game I’ve played. I’m getting the impression that it may be one of the greats, so I’m planning to share it in addition to the other 2 if people like it.

I love baldurs gate but I' love to see you do Dark Alliance i think it's caleld with Drizzt in it since i'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge Drizzt fan. but i hear the game isn't as good as it was made out to be.

Hi gorilla! I listened to the elden ring video and i really liked it. I really enjoy all the audio described content you do. I especially like your baldures gate series since i really find the story interesting and i find all the characters interesting. The interactions are sometimes really funny and entertaining to listen to. And i like seeing the different strategies for combat.

2022-03-08 03:45:02

Hey michaelhoffman1976,
It's funny you say that because I still want to try that game despite what I've heard about it.  Just looks like it could still be fun in spurts, maybe in co-op though.  I'll say that I was surprised to see Drizzt make an appearance in Baldur's Gate, the one I'm doing the playthrough of.  It's a short appearance, caught me off-guard but I got the impression he may be back later. Should be in one of the next few episodes.  I've put a hold on playing the game further until I catch up with the videos.

Hey Computergamer!
Great to hear it, thanks for the feedback on that game.  I agree about the characters, for some reason they draw me in and I like to see how they react to each other.  The Neera thing continues in the episode I'm working on now.  Also turns out that Dorn is pretty evil, so it will be interesting to see how things pan out with him.  It will be cool once we eventually get to Baldur's Gate 2 and hopefully see some of the same faces.

Hay NortheasternGorilla, it's nice you're doing a playthrough of elden ring.
I've had my eye on this game for a while, but can't play it as I am blind.
Playing these kinds of games vicariously through you make me feel like I'm playing it myself.
And don't worry about the slow schedule, having these at all is a blessing.
One small thing I'd like to add.
I stumbled upon a little game called tERRORbane for steam and switch, and no, that's not a type o in the title, it's written like that.
I think you might enjoy playing it.
It's cheep and short, so if you wanted to share your experience with us, that'd be neat.
And if you don't, the game will give you some laughs at the vary least for a vary small price tag that's 10% off until April 21.
I noticed you like RPGs, so you should enjoy this one.
It's a bit old-school though...
Thanks for reading, and keep up the good work.
PS; If you do decide to share your reactions to tERRORbane, start your recording program before launching the game for the first time, as there's an intro sequence that's not to be missed that only plays once.
In terms of length, you're probably looking at something a little shorter than "Brothers: A Tale of Two sons" that you did a while back.
Speaking of short, The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe launches on the 27th.
It's funny and short.
I'm not really sure how you'd do a reaction/description to that one but hay, it's a suggestion...
Later!

I greatly appreciate that feedback you gave me in the beginning of your post.

I am a fan of old-school RPGs, and tERRORbane looks interesting.  I'll keep it on my radar, good to have shorter games to mix in with the regular rotation.

Stanley Parable was pretty funny from what I remember.  According to Steam, I played 30 minutes of it back in 2013.  I enjoyed what I played and meant to come back to it, so it would be cool to revisit it at some point.

Hi all,

Part 12 to audio described Baldur's Gate.  All characters fully voiced.  Also included some of alternate dialogue choices at the end of the episode.  Hope you enjoy.

Well if anyone wants to put this in the description, this is the rss for this thing.
It may help for those not wanting to doodle with pontes media or similar as the file is not quite up on youtube and can take a little longer if you want to convert for playback.

@gorilla, thanks for the part. I just listened to it and really enjoyed it. The story is really interesting and i wonder what will happen next. I have to say baldures gate may be my favorite series due to a interesting story, characters and good voice actors. And i like the strategies for the battles.

Computergamer, glad to hear you liked that one.  I love Baldur's Gate too, for the same reasons.

Hay NortheasternGorilla, just thought I'd pop in a quick sec to tell you that the Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe is now out.
You said in a previous post that steam logged 30 minutes of you playing the game.

Well I have some great news for you.
If you act within the next two weeks, you can get a 33 percent discount for owning the original version of the Stanley Parable.
Speaking of; if you haven't played it sence 2013, there's a nice steam achievement waiting for you...
Later!

Hey all.

Shorter horror game, Expedition of Hob's Barrow.  Should only be a few parts long, tried it live this time.  Hope you enjoy:

Baldur's Gate next in the hopper.

Another game finished for Gorilla's Playthrough: The Excavation of Hob's Barrow:
This is an indie horror game with incredible voice acting & a dark, well-thought out story.  Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing.
It's also the first one I did live with my face, to give the feeling that we're going through it together.
The point & click games lend themselves well to this, and the next one will be voted on via poll.
Obviously the longer games, and audio guides, are still continuing in the meantime. But it's good to have some that I bring endings to as well.

There were some major setbacks along the way but that's just life.  Here it is, for those interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFWOP0CIq8Y
And here is the entire playlist from start to finish:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ_d-dW … rv-H5EHsOc

Here is a full update for those unfamiliar, these are narrated playthroughs of various games.
The 2 main longer games currently being worked on are Baldur's Gate (fully voiced) & Final Fantasy VII Remake.
There have also been shorter, finished games like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Excavation of Hob's Barrow, and The Last Door.
Audio/Menu/Character guides are also provided for various games, including fighting games, usually upon request.
Various other spurts of games are released in shorter adventures, such as Elden Ring, Yakuza, FFXII, Way of the Samurai, Death Stranding.

If you want to support me, I do not take donations so liking, subscribing and sharing my content helps reach more people who can use these.  That's the goal.
