I can honestly say I have no idea what you're referring to with regard to your JAWS issue. I've ran the game several times, all with JAWS 17, and it's worked just fine.
jsquared: Just curious, but how are you calculating your bank offers?

The issue regarding keystrokes is as old as Jaws, I believe. It has to do with how Jaws captures keystrokes from the system, which it does via a so called low level keyboard hook in Windows. The install_keyhook function has been around for a long time in BGT to try to work around this, but I am told that a Windows update that was released I think earlier this year or late in 2014 will sometimes make programs that use install_keyhook sluggish. Not in the same way as when the keyhook is not installed (which is to say not letting keystrokes through at all), but rather that there is a very slight delay between the key being pressed and the game being aware of it. Game writers could potentially make the keyhook an optional feature that users could turn on and off, but this would have to be done for each game and is not something that I can implement in a generic fashion in BGT itself. I will read the article you provided, but am not sure if there's anything more I can do if some people are having the issue but others are not, using the same Jaws version. I will be in touch again if I come up with anything new. Thanks!

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

I'm sure others have contacted FS about this problem, so have I, now.

Since I am considering using BGT for some game ideas, it would be nice if this problem could have a final fix that works for everyone.

Well, my previous message saying that there were problems between JAWS and Deal or No Deal, turns out to be a false alarm.

As it turns out, my installation of JAWS was corrupted. Running the JAWS installer in repair mode fixed JAWS and the problem I was having with Deal or No Deal.

In the two years I've been using JAWS, that's the first time I've had a problem with it.

Sorry for the false alarm.

Hello, that reminds me of the nintendo ds version, where you could play as the banker.

i have a question i have both NVDA and window eyes 9.4 on the windows10 computer. i have NVDA loaded but when i hit enter to play deal or no deal it forces window eyes to load even though NVDA is already running and will not just speak using NVDA. how do i fix this or should i just uninstall window eyes?

I'd recommenduninst allng iindoww eyes, as the same thing happened to me on a different game when window eyes was installed.

Alas, a small update to fix a couple of bugs. Updated link is in the first post.

Version 1.01
Added BGT workaround which caused Window-Eyes to load even if it was not running
Fixed so some screen readers don't speak case 18 as March. That's a really bad Eloquence implementation
Added help text for initial select your case screen
Fixed version number on window title

Way cool! Thanks! It must have been a small bug because 1.0 always worked perfectly as far as I could tell.

I'm really looking forward to trying this, I used to really enjoy the show when it first started, in spite of the UK host Noel Edmonds
