Can someone give me a link to get the latest version of the unofficial Squaresoft soundpack? When I had my sight I use to play the Final Fantasy games.
When I heard about this mud I have been wanting to play for a while.

Is this the professional sound pack? From what I have heard there was different ones.
Is this as close to the Squaresoft games as possible?

Its a work in progress as things change in game, but yes, it features music and sounds from the square games.

How do you talk to the different characters in the game? I found a wise old man.
However when I typed talk to wise old man it said that there is no wise old man in the room. Also how do you turn on areanotify? When I typed areanotify it did not do anything.

To talk to any npc just say hi. If they have something to say then they will.
As for area notify its off by default to present the mud in its purest form because the game doesn't have its own area notify system like alter, so it only serves to tell mush what song to play. But if you want to turn it on then type config before typing the command. Anything else that can be adjusted in config is done by typing config followed by that option.

With the area notify turn off will the music automatically change when you enter different areas? Also is there any aspect of Mystic Quest in the mud?

First yes, and second not reallly.
There is a long standing area music bug that caused it not to play because the order of the room exits change after the mud reboots, but next update should fix that. Still you should experience no tracebacks and the music will mostly change accordingly.

What Squaresoft games are in this mud? Also is there any original stuff in this mud that is not in any of the Squaresoft games?

So far it features worlds and story missions from secret of mana, ff5, ff6, ff7, chrono trigger, and a couple others as you progress. The combat system and deep dungeon are from ff tactics. The numerous jobs or classes are from various square games, too many too list em all. Same with the races and numerous side activities. All content is designed to be as closwe to the source material as possible, so everything has their square origins, thus the title of unofficial squaresoft mud. There are sprincles of originality here and there but this mud is here to celebrate the 30 years of squaresoft history.
