Hi, sorry if this isn't the right place for this. I recently logged in for the first time in a while, and when I did, Chrome informed me that my AG.net password had been exposed somewhere. Is this something related to the stored password on my Google account specifically, or was there some kind of breach here that I missed an announcement about?

No, it means that your password for AG.NET has been leaked in some kind of data dump. Not the fault of AG.NET but probably your (unwise) idea of password reuse. I'd strongly recommend you use a password manager and change the password of all accounts that use that password. And never reuse a password -- I can't stress this enough. And enable 2-factor whenever you can too.

Yup, I've transitioned to doing that now as well. If you're looking for a password manager with comparatively low hastle that won't send you an "upgrade to premium" email every day, I'd say go with last pass. It has extensions and apps for pretty much all browsers and apps, and I think its free features are the most generous out of all the well-known password managers.

Same thing here a while back with Safari, but in all fairness, I hadn't changed my password since 2014 when I was really bad at passwords.

@Connor142: Will do you one better and suggest Bitwarden. One can never trust a closed source password manager that hasn't gone through a legit stress test. Plus, premium plan if you do choose to upgrade is only 10 bucks a year, and has, you know, actual premium features. Including fido2 support, though sadly not in the desktop app.
I'm the only adventure at c: master hahahaha I have unlocked just about everything!

I use Bitwarden, and I'd say it's a good middle ground in this case if you want an online, but opensource manager. If you want something more secure than that, considering that it's offline and also opensource, you could try Keepass. I have a hard time believing that you'd actually need more security than Bitwarden offers though and 99% of the time you're just being paranoid if you think that, but it's an option for anybody who does.

Ok thanks guys. I use different passwords for most things now but my AG has an old one I just never got around to changing. I just wanted to know the source of wherever this was.
