You're going to have insane

Jade,
The stone cubes are for the end of the quest. You don't need all
four but it helps to have them all since you get a lot of EXP if you do. And
as for the riddle, I won't tell you the answer. Instead I'll give you a
hint. You'll notice that in that riddle there is a link. Clicking it just
may help you out...
damn, is there any way to delete a character?
or just let one expire, i
can't make another with the same e-mail address.
so, what would you call
good stats.
so i know for next time.
Why
yes as a matter of fact you can delete a character. After logging in, just
click Play as you normally would. Then there are three buttons, Resume
current game, restart character and delete. And yes I'm pretty sure you can
create another character...well, I know Adventurers' Guild members can. But
anyway, you can always delete your character and create another one and, to
be honest, with stats like yours I would. If you can, you want your stats to
be "above average" at the very least, so if you don't like the stats you
get, click the Reroll button at the very bottom. Once I got a Melee rating
that was over thirty (although I wouldn't count on that if I were you).
I've currently got a Melee rating of 57, and I'm an Accomplished in
Weaponry and Weaponry: Slashing. I'm also a Journeyman in the powers of
Gating, Illusion and Fortification. But you may not be able to start with
magical potential depending on your Aura, Spirit and Mind scores. I think
they have to be at least "above average" (higher than twelve or so) for that
to happen.
thx brian, i'll try that tommorrow.
thx
Just
started another character, have done all (I think?) except finishing the
knight's quest, the Murk, and Stoneback Hill...and yet my MR is already 56
and my SP is 67. Have lots of good stuff. And I found out what happens at
the end of the alley in Penekarn Lane...
Okay
so I've got 76SP and 60MR and have a 60 in weaponry and 50 in weaponry:
slashing. But I've a couple of questions:
1. Where do you sell trosque
horns and how much do they go for?
2. Have any of you been to
Kyul-Thanar?
I
have never managed to even get a Trosk horn even though I finally did manage
to slay one a few days ago, so I wouldn't know either where to sell one or
how much they'd go for. But yes I have been to Kyul-Thanor. The enemies
there are quite a bit tougher than in Sryth...of course I didn't have the
Hale Blade at the time so maybe when I head back there things should be a
bit easier.
I
think I've literally finished every quest except the dragon-egg quest,
actually. The only stat of mine that isn't superhuman is luck, and it's
exceptional at 18. MR of 60, SP of 77 now and NV of 13. I didn't find
either of the places in Kyul-Thanor too difficult.
Brian, do you have MSN
or anything by chance?
Nope.

so, what do you think, have i got a

I
personally would have rerolled until I was able to start with magic, but at
least your Melee rating is better. BTW, you don't have to copy everything
word for word from the site. That was a bit of a pain to read through last
time.
Agreed with Brian here. Not bad, but you're still going to have
difficulty.
I, personally, would've rerolled till your melee rating was a
base 25 or higher...preferably higher since you'll be able to kick ass
without breaking a sweat.
yes.
Those knights, particularly the Knights of the Dragon and Gryphon, are
murder. Heck, even with an MR of 39 they'll give you a run for your money.
But you're going to want a higher MR if you hope to complete the Caves of
Westwold or get Gralgarak's armor from his tomb without acruing many Marks
of Death. Those undead goblins are tough. And if you're even thinking of
tackling the Thane's tournament or Stoneback Hill...Well you definitely
want a Melee Rating of at least fifty for the tournament. Stoneback Hill you
could actually do with an MR of 45 or so if you were lucky. I know you
probably won't get that at the start, but the higher your MR is at the
start the less you'll have to work to get it to where you'll eventually
want it and the less trouble you'll have in the beginning. And the higher
your stats are in general, Body, Might and Agility and stuff, the less
experience you'll have to spend when you level up your skills. And like I
said, next time you post your stats, please, just give us a general idea.
Don't post it word for word. Like I said that was kind of a pain to read
through. I personally would also reroll until your character is able to
start with magical potential. That way you'll be able to use more of the
stuff you find like the tattered scroll from Stoneback Hill, which will give
you a random magical ability. Besides, then you can join the Grey Circle,
although that won't be till you complete Stoneback Hill. I'm just viging
you advice from personal experience. If your stats are too low you're going
to have major trouble. Even the supremely easy task of fighting off those
robbers from the tavern in Hawklor will be hell if you don't have decent
stats.
The
Knights and the Gralgarak's army stuff level up like you do, as do some of
the other enemies that are quest-related. Be warned. I tried that one
already. The Griffon Knight is going to be a deadly combattant no matter
what you do.
I
remember I had an MR of 49 when I tackled Gralgarak last time and he still
whipped me like three times. And how do you know they level up? Did you talk
to the GM?
Well
it looks like I've done everything that can be done in Sryth at the moment.
I've completed all the quests in Kyul-Thanor including the Return of
Ironfist adventure, and so far as I know everything's done in Sryth, so I
guess it's done for the moment unless there's something I missed. BTW,
anybody know what to do with those goblin war plans?
Answer 1: They level up because your weapon influences how strong they are.
(TIP: Unequip the Hale Blade before fighting, say, the undead thing from
SBH, then re-equip it right before you go into battle for easy
victory).
Answer 2: Give the Goblin War Plans to the Thane in Talinis
(there should be an option there once you've finished SBH if I recall
correctly).
Brian, with all the quests done for ya, what's your MR and SP?
I've got a character who, when finished, will have 61MR, 84SP.
My
Melee Rating is sixty and my SP is 64 I believe. That's one thing I hate
about Sryth, that you get some of these items and there's no use for them,
like the leather tome from Stoneback Hill. I also got a piece of a shield
from the weaponsmith in Kkyul Thanor and that's probably the only one
that's in the game.
I must say that if the enemies level up as you do
it's not all that noticeable for some of them. The only reason the
Voren-Thul killed me several times this last game was because of that fear
thing it does sometimes. Other than that he didn't stand much of a chance
against the Hale Blade. I must say that even those Imbuable weapons didn't
quite make the cut for me when compared to the Hale Sword. And where are the
rest of those Nevernal Icons. I only found the one you get when you first
discover the Palk statue. Lemme guess, not in the game yet.
I
have five or six icons actually, four that are boring and two that are neat
"Icon of Tangling Vines" and "Icon of Biting Frost". Hope you didn't miss
the rings from Kyul-Thanar, and I hope you subdued that guy in Graldok
instead of killing him.
Only some enemies level up. The seven knights do,
Gralgarak's minions will, as will he himself. The mini-boss type enemies in
SBH and the Vorin-thull will, too. Most, however, don't.
Rings? Which rings are you talking about. I got a few from Zaralg I believe
but they weren't anything special, at least not as far as I was concerned.
What I already had was better save for the Ring of Dark Valour. And if
you're talking about that guy at the bazaar, I couldn't even dent him let
alone subdue him. It always told me I was staring into the eyes of death, so
no I didn't subdue him or kill him.
If
you have an offensive magic skill like destruction or telekinesesis or even
divination, and three blessings handy, you might be able to take him.
The
Ring of Dark Valour is what I was talking about. There is also the
Warrior's Ring in the cave where you have to go rescue the armour-smith.
It's a decent ring. But to be fair, Iliak or whatever his name is, he's
very very tough, so don't worry if you can't kill him or whatnot.
Also...drop all the crud you don't want in your house. I sold the two
weapons from SBH to Brinivor for a tidy profit.
There's one problem. Didn't you say to subdue Illiok and not kill him?
You can't use Telekinesis or destruction unless you're actually going to
kill him. Does it really matter? And yeah, I never even equipped the Black
Steel Axe or that hammer you get. I also found out that you can save
yourself a lot of trouble if you don't even take that Onyx Skull Amulet
that Trungar gives you during Stoneback Hill. Yeah you could drop it, but if
you don't even take it you don't have to worry. I like the way the story
plays out if you do that. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed
that if you don't equip the Wooden Skull Mask it'll disappear from your
inventory? I know this for a fact because it happened to me several times
during the same game. I'd ollect it from the chest, then head to the save
point right before the Voren-Thul. I'd go to equip the mask only to
discover I didn't have it anymore, so then I'd have to go back and
reacquire it. This happened several times in the same game, and no I didn't
get killed and lose it that way. Bizarre, I know, but true. At first I did
think I'd gotten killed and just fogotten to save, so I got the mask and
then left the tomb so I could save. I checked my inventory and discovered I
still had the mask. So then I went to the last safe point and opened my
inventory only to discover that the mask had vanished. So yes you do have to
equip it soon after acquiring it...if you want to get past those zomby hands
that is.
I
never noticed that problem, to be honest. Maybe it was a bug that got
fixed?
Also, I agree about the amulet thingamajig. I never took it to begin
with because I was an idiot and simply missed it. But when I realized that
it did no good and would probably only have hurt me in the end, I was
relieved I didn't.
Question, if anyone knows: if I find expensive stuff
that's not weapons (say, a Ring of Agility, the Seven Knights' stuff I
don't want, the pouch of emeralds)...can I sell any of it for more than a
hundred gold each?
Not
that I know of. Hate to say it. A case in point is the Shield of the Dragon.
I generally sell it in favor of Gralgarak's shield which has a higher Melee
Rating bonus, but nowhere can you get more than a hundred gold. Even
Talinus, which is supposed to be the merchant capital of the kingdom
apparently only has enough funds to pay you a hundred gold for these things,
even when an object is worth only a little more. You could have something
that would actually be worth only a hundred and fifty gold and you could
still only get a hundred for it. The thing that gets me is that Bryniver
won't buy any of that stuff. He only buys weapons save for when you sell
him the cup from the tournament. The cool part is that if you use Diplomacy
and succeed, you can get more than twice the original offer for the cup.
That's the only thing though. Other than that you're stuck getting just a
hundred...unless there's some hitherto unreleased area where you can
actually get good money for that stuff.
