Hello. I am having a problem with beatstar. I erased my data, ran the game, selected my language, and then all I was able to do after is close it because nothing else happens. I even tryed again after creating new data with a slightly older version along with redownloading, but still select my language and nothing after. Can anybody help?

that is strange. Did you erase save.dat? Was it in the default location?
Can you see if the file has been created again?

This started happening after the game tryed to put packs in an undefined folder, then starting a download of the default pack to the incorrect folder that didn’t have data and then closed mid download. I have tryed everything, but it didn’t try to save in the default location.
Ah I think you have by mistake set your main folder to undefined location. When you're starting the game, is their nothing that it's showing?

ok, delete the beatstar folder
and extract the downloaded zip file again

It seams that after it got changed to JS, we keep having problems. I can't turn JAWS to sleepd mode only in the game, I tried it in order to solve the issue where it always says "blank" before every menu item, it didn't work because the game is running in a browser and JAWS is put to sleep while the entire browser is running. I tried the domain-specific settings for webpages but that puts JAWS to sleep in every file named "index.htm". BGT is just better then JS, no matter what you BGT haters out there say.

bgt is not better than js, no matter what you say. Wait 2 years or so, and no bgt games will work on modern versions of windows.
Maybe there are things better than js out there, but for cross platform compatibility, I've found this approach the best. Oh, and you should probably use NVDA with this game and press insert space to disable web browser mode.
well that is definitely bad, I should probably introduce more error checking in future versions of the game as it would help narrow down errors. In any case, feel free to contact me on skype so we can perhaps solve this. My skype is on my website
@8, Yeah yeah yeah, I know you like JS better. I'm not sure that BGT will stop working in the neer future, however. And yeah, the game works fine with NVDA, but you could use JAWS with the BGT version, so going to JS is more a downgrade than an upgrade.
Another problem with the JS version is that there are way too many files, compared to the ultra-portible BGT version of the game.

ok, I haven't been able to play this thing at it's latest version no matter where I extract the zip on my hard drive. I don't think it is the folder.

guys, if you again have pack playing problem, and if you are using realtek device, go update driver, reboot computer and that's it! thanks to braille0109 for helping.
but now i can't create packs folder and can't download packs.
i'm really! really sorry for appearing this topic again.
jacerbt, if you have this language problem again, delete beatstar folder in appdata, and then enter in a game. For me it has bin fixed.
