Hi everyone,
I recently got a PS4 for my birthday, and i'd really like to use the text to speech feature. Now the problem is that i'm in the Netherlands, and we don't get that feature here. Is there a way around this? And if so, how?

Hi.
No, there is not, at all, any ways to get the TTS function to work outside the US. Sony blocks us from using it...
I hate to say this since you've just got your ps3, but: If you want accessibility in terms of text to speech, get the money back for your ps4 and get a XBox instead. Text to speech and any improvements to what Sony was working on like two years ago is not going to happen. Sony is ignoring all suggestions about accessibility, they just don't care at all.
Having been a Playstation fan myself for many years, I really don't like to say this. But that's the fact. Sony has disappointed blind people world wide for so long, and they even don't try to do anything about it.
But, if you don't care about the TTS, then you can enjoy the Playstation very much. It is an awesome console accept for the accessibility.

Best regards SLJ.

Hi,

yeah, definately go with xbox if you want accessibility features. What i have heard about sony access, was that it was limited to north america only, please guys, correct me if i am wrong, but the rest of the world was excluded, wich is dissapointing if you ask me.

But as SLJ stated, two years back accessibility development stopped, wich was rather unsatisfieing, cause at that time i was researching if i wanted a ps4 or a xbox one.

When i was sighted i was used to use a xbox, but i was willing toe  give the ps4 a go if it's access was more improved then xbox.

All other points wich i can add, are already mentioned, so i won't repeat them.

But i agree with SLJ, the best what you probably can do is asking your money back, and get a xbox one, if accessibility is of high value to you.

woopsy. I forgot to read my post before posting, so I didn't realised I wrote ps3 instead of ps4... smile
Yes, people are totally excluded because the TTS function requires the US hardware, which is different from the rest of the world for some weird reason...

Best regards SLJ.
