They're not bad, but I've noticed.
1: The list under a user's name is now presented by NVDA as separate lines.
So before, it used to be like this:
From: Texas
Registered: Jan 17 2021

Now it's like this
From:
Texas
Registered:
Jan 17 2021

2: The registered users and guest notifier is different on the home page. I swear it didn't used to look like that.

Am I going crazy or is this real? And did I miss some news or something? I haven't been here in a few days.

yes, I'm having the same problem, to be honest I like the previous line layout better, maybe others will like the current layout, but I personally have been using the forum for almost 4 years and I'm used to the previous line layout

That's strange; mine hasn't changed. Maybe maximize the window? Also, Firefox has started doing this weird zoom thing that makes pages change between mobile and desktop modes, even if the window is maximized. I don't know what browser you're using, but maybe Chrome-based browsers do the same thing? Try going to the address bar and tabbing a few times, and see if you're browser says 250% or 500% or some number with a percentage. If it does, click that button and it should go away.

@Dan Gero
i use chrome with the zoom level at 100 percent, i also tried Maximize the window but it still doesn't seem to be resolved, and it seems this problem occurs when I update Chrome, I guess

If you're using NVDA, is your screen layout (NVDA and v) on?

2024-02-24 22:53:16

It might be a browser update. Does the same happened with Firefox?

2024-02-25 00:48:19

@7 is right. When I do NVDA+V I get the same behaviour as described in post 1.

I'm also not having this issue, so not sure what's happening.

2024-02-25 16:30:59

its related with the screen layout. Press nvda v and be happy

2024-02-25 18:27:16

Yeah, something is definitely different. Even with screen layout off, it used to not do this before. I'd say it's likely a browser update, hard to tell though.

2024-02-25 21:26:17

So now there are extra line breaks and the mods don't even know about them? No wonder this site goes downhill. Next we'll see extra tabs and that will be the end of Audiogames.net.
/sarcasm off

We are pleased, that you made it through the final challenge, where we pretended we were going to murder you. We are throwing a party in honor of your tremendous success. Place the device on the ground, then lay on your stomach with your arms at your sides. A party associate will arrive shortly to collect you for your party. Assume the party submission position or you will miss the party.

It is caused by a browser update. I tend to stay on older versions for a while to see if any bugs pop up but everything and it's mom was forcing me into bot checks because my browser was 1 fucking version behind the newest thing. God I hate the modern Internet.
It is also exclusive to chromium based browsers. If you're on Firefox, it's business as usual.

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.

Using JAWS and Chrome is up to date, so I wonder if it's a Chromium/NVDA thing.

For what it's worth, the labels and the content in the infobox part of each post are showing up on the same line on my end... Granted, I'm using Orca under Linux, not NVDA under Windows... no idea if that section was displaying differently in the past(did recently upgrade from Firefox 122 to FIrefox 123 and did briefly try the alpha and beta versions of Orca 46(currently running the latest Orca 45) as I generally don't care about that part of each post and scroll past it as fast as possible most of the time(half the time, I don't even bother reading the username)... Kind of wish I could reduce the infobox to just post number and username, but at least this forum doesn't try to squeeze half of a user's profile into that part of the page.

2024-02-26 06:05:34

@14, that's odd. I downloaded Brave just after the OP told me about this privately and I'm not getting the new layout. I'm on NVDA as well.

@16, you actually can if you minimise the window. That will cause it to display the mobile website which contains much less extraneous information. Personally I prefer the desktop view, but YMMV.

2024-02-26 16:44:29

Seams to be something with NVDA, I tryed reproducing the behaviour with the latest firefox and Chrome on a different machine and if I would hit NVDA V, it would reproduce said behaviour that Post 1 described.

Greetings Moritz.

I can't seem to reproduce it regardless of the screen layout setting.

I'm using Brave and it still looks the same.

2024-02-27 16:52:14

I have screen layout off and always have. When I turn it on, two links appear on the same line and that's annoying. Not really sure what's going on, it's weird and still happening.

I turned screen layout on, and that seems to have taken care of the issue. It's strange though, I must admit.

2024-02-28 09:33:35

Haven't notice any differences.

And I thought I was going crazy.
I will just use screen layout on for this site, it's fine.
