Now that the Christmas break has finished we've started work again adding new features to TextSpaced.

Firstly, from the previous update we have added additional orders that you can issue to your enlisted (NPC) ships. As well as intercept you can now order them to follow, patrol, mine and explore - helping smaller factions expand their reach and protection.

The Serf class ship has been added to the game. The Serf is a small and lockable construction role ship, perfect to take with you if you wish to claim and build in the frontier.

We have added a number of combat skills these being "resequenced", "damage control" and "no man left behind". We have also added skills to help with crew levelling these being "inspirational" and "one of us". A new skills was also added specifically for androids called "discount codes" allowing androids to purchase software patches cheaper based on their skill level.

Another notable skill added was "highways" a skill specifically for those that travel in logistic role ships, like the freighter. This skill allows you to create highways simply by travelling the same route. Once the highway is established you can travel faster using the highway based on the skill level - super handy if you are the one in your faction in charge of moving cargo around.

We have also started to enable more intelligent NPC systems, the government now for instance will begin scanning ships for illegal cargo and fitted ports, warning people to remove these items and dropping karma relations correspondingly.

To better support miners, we have adde the Tug class ship, a small ship that when docked in a bay can be used by a miner crew member to further increase your mining yields.

Lastly, we have added the "travelling merchant" skill. This allows players to act as travelling merchants in specialised ships able to provide port trading and port fitting services in systems that have none. Players tag equipment and weapons in their hold they wish to sell and can also choose what to sell the items as above or below RRP based on their level.

We are continuing to add more narrative text and hope to bring a very important ship to the game by next week as well as adding new skills and expanded order support.

I love science fiction, more muds and rpgs in this genre make me very bored.  but I don't know why, I can't stop playing this one!  seriously, even my other brazilian friends loved the game, even though it's not translated to ptbr.  Seriously, what a wonderful game!

During the last week we have mainly been focusing on bug fixing and changes to better support upcoming features for next week, such as terraforming. The biggest addition this week was the adding of the Warship, a Descendant made ship. This ship is completely unique in that it has a Null Space Gateway built directly into it, this allows faction members to travel to the Warships position either via sublight or FTL and moreover, allows ships to retreat even when their light drives are destroyed in combat. The ship itself is also geared for war featuring integral artillery, countermeasures against smaller ships and the ability to repair the entire friendlies teams shields in combat. It also has plenty of room for expansion featuring a 4,000 Mg hold, 8 bays and 12 rooms.

Other minor features including being able to toggle if a faction crafted ship should go on sale and changes to what is dropped when a structure is destroyed.

I wanted to give the game a try but i can not complete the charakter kreation.
After selecting a fraction in stepp 3 of joining, and clicking "next" i always come back to stepp 1.
Furthermore in the fraction selection screen  i see everytimes a different selection from tree fractions but not allways the same.
Tested with firefox and edge but it's the same result.

Hello there, sorry you are having difficulty. It sounds like there is a problem with your initial details that should be creating an error. Please check the password you are using meets the complexity rules of containing a mix of characters uppercase and lowercase and numbers, with a minimum length of 8 (or have your browser generate a strong password).

For the faction selection, these are player factions that have a colony you can be born in. Therefore they will often be different each time. You can also choose Starborn if you wish to start your own faction.

Thanks for your help, a save passwort solved the problem. It just didn't displayed any error message only setting my back, that was confusing and should be fixed sometimes.

Hi.
I played the game then it was in beta, but only got started with a few upgrades, and didn't got far into the game.
I remember an announcement regarding sounds. Has there been added more sounds to the game? Not that it matters when the gameplay is good.
Last year in December, I saw a new podcast being mentioned, where I downloaded the intro. Does somebody know if new podcasts has been made? I can't find them, and I'm not a good Discord user. I really love the idea of a weekly podcast with the news about things happening in the Textspaced world.
I should check out this game again, especially after all the great guides has been released. I remember it being a bit difficult to get started last time I played in the beta version.

yeah there are more sounds for the UI, like menus and notifications. they have some cool musics that you could turn on, too, which I think changes depending where you are. There are more sounds like when you are traveling etc. not sure about combat though, I never really get my hand into it.

We have tried to increase the amount of support as much as possible including a training mission for new players, an FAQ system, a tutorial system and of course plenty of guides you have mentioned - we are always adding more and more so I am glad to hear these are helping.

For the news broadcast the plan was to do this weekly and have it available to listen to in game. The person doing the recordings has had a temporary change in circumstances but the plan still is to have this as a feature in the future when everything is up and running correctly.

For sounds, there are indeed UI sounds and music that changes based on where you are. We still plan to add sound to combat as well which should happen within the next few weeks.

Over the past week we have added some interesting new features.

You can now attempt to terraform planets and realise the terraforming skill to improve this endeavour, all the information on how this works can be found in the related FAQ.

Sounds have now been added for combat with the combat guide update to include samples so you can listen to the sounds to understand what they mean before going into combat, although combat sims are available.

We have also added the ability to transfer all of a cargo type at once and we now show the fatigue on weapons and equipment to give people an idea on how that works before rolling it out.

Over the coming week we are focusing some effort on improving pagination and how data tables render as well as some other quality of life features.

For which reason i can not buy ship which i wish?

To purchase a new ship you need to have enough credits to afford it, enough crew to man it with you and meet the skill requirements as stated. It is likely in your case you don’t meet the crew requirement of 1, you can hire any crew of any role to meet this requirement.

Are you sure you wish to purchase the Enhanced Frigate class ship for 40,000 credits? (the ship will be parked in this system and you can switch to it when you are ready from your command window)
After that i click on purchase, and when i open command window, i can see:
PARKED SHIPS
Not available.
I bought three or four ships becaouse firstly i mean that is bug, but now i do not know what to do next

If you are seeing the text "currently unavailable" then this likely means you are in an idle activity such as travelling or mining, during idle activities some sections are unavailable.

Any question or suggestion:
I must fly from coordinates around 11161 to 11019. And by the speed of my ship it can be long around 12 h.
I use  ftl drive for first 15 li  and after  that i can not  activate again becouse i'm out of fuel.
My question is: does have any way to store reserve fuel in for example cargo of my ship and to refuel my ship in deep space?
If as i think currently it is impossible, my suggestion is to add in game it.
Or to add in game ship which can haul a fuel and refuel the others ships. Also, in ship combat, maybe to add another way of combat i mean on boarding actions. The combat is being more realistics if in it have long and short range combat, boarding actions with mariners, and possibility to capture enemy ship.

There is currently no mechanism to store reserve fuel, however this is an interesting idea that I'll add to investigate. Some systems have the refuel service and you can filter for these in the helm window.

For combat, already planned is hunting and personal combat that will initially start-off as attacking other players while on the surface of a planet but will later evolve into combat onboard ships as well.

What is best ways to improve my skills such as atack craft or operation craft?
I need for example operation craft at  40. How i can raise my current skill which are 1,16. I know for option to train skill but it is slowest way and i earn only 1,5 of skill. Any suggestions?
