Hello

I just updated to the latest version of NVDA on my computer and I'm incountering a weird thing with ocr. I can OCR the window that I'm in and get a result, but if I want to OCR again when something changes, I have to alt tab out and back into the window. It just gives me the text from the previous OCR result if I don't. Is this something on my end or is it just a bug in this version?

It seems to be working fine for me. Have you restarted your system? I usually restart my system after an NVDA update.

Isn't that how it's always worked? I escape to get out of the OCR results and then just hit NVDA-r again, works for me every time.

I do that, but if I hit NVDA r afterword, it appears to be recognizing but doesn't actually give an updated result, instead just showing the text from the last scan as the new one.

This also happens for me in some windows. In one emulator the issue can be fixed by not running it in full screen.

This occasionally happens in full-screen apps, but it's hard to pin down and has become very rare for me. Is it happening on screens which used to work? I would double check that you haven't done anything like accidentally set a game to full screen mode.
