Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if it's mind over matter honestly, but it's also a possibility so who can say.
what is rtts? when i first seen it in the menus, i got so happy, i thought that was a form of text to speech to read the menus lol but nope
Road to the show is a career mode.
The pitches Can be heard, but their extremely quiet. After turning the crowd volume completely down I can hear when my pitcher pitches the ball. I also changed the camera angle in the presentation settings from all to batting and pitching only. I don't know if that had any effect.
At Aron could you possibly record a demo of you throwing some pitches?
Also, can you confirm that this also works in other modes like exhibition or season mode?
Greetings Moritz.
I tested it on my ny franchise and rtts. I could probably do that. I\ll have to free up a bit of my Xbox live storage though.
Xbox is giving me a recording failed error and I have no idea why. In the mean time here's a tip. Swing when you hear the woosh sound, not after it.
Edit. Here's a little demo. I was really bad at hitting.

Hmm, it does sound quite nteresting, although pritty much luck based if I might say so, out of 10 pitches, you hit about one, and that was a foul ball. I don't know, to me it seams, no pun intended, a pritty hit and miss.
Greetings Moritz.
Regarding SMB3, does the game actually have any fielding assist? As far as I could pic up, the field assist is just parcial, so I|m not sure what it can do for you.
Greetings Moritz.
See, I thought there might have been a little woosh, because I thought I could hear one when watching a video of the game the other day. However, I wasn't entirely sure. See, in that case, all they would need to do is to add like a slider or something to raise the pitch sound volume. Even that would work. It's there, it just needs to be adjusted.
True @33 and @35. Haven't adjusted the timing slider yet though.
Hmm, what timing slider do you mean? Haven't heard about that one yet.
I will try out SMB3 and report my findings, will see if it's any good actually.
Greetings Moritz.
Smoke apparently plays SMB3 a lot and likes it.
There's a timing slider that makes the hitting window larger. there are also sliders that slow down the visuals on fast balls and other types of pitches. This sort of makes them easier to hit, but I don't know if it makes them easier to hear or not.
The larger window helps as you have a better chance of making contact. I'm through half a season as a road to the show player, but since I can't do the mini games, I'm not raising my stats as quick as I'd like.
@38 that probably isn't because of the minigames, because every reviewer ever said that in rtts for some reason it takes centuries to increase stats. What position are you playing and how successful are you at that position?
I'm a pitcher catcher. they're using me a lot as a DH. I'm quite successful at it lol
At Liam which Smoke are you talking about here actually?
I need to check the game to see how it works.
I suppose if you can play RTTS, it might be an interesting playing around with the game.
I suppose you have the show 21 on PS5, does the haptic feetback help in any way?
Greetings Moritz.
bsg Smoke.
The haptic feedback doesn't really help, but enhances the feeling of hitting a ball quite a bit.
I was hoping there would be some haptic feedback from when the ball leaves the pitcher's hand, but.. not yet.
@Liam: You got drafted by the Royals, didn't you? /sarcasm
Got my hands on an XB1 and MLBTS21 to test it...and it's like I remember. I /thought/ they tweaked it so you got a little improvement/falloff every at bat as a hitter or pticher. You can improve your stats by being amazing really, or could last gen. Pitcher seems* easier to get your stats up in, honestly at least for me since it's a chess game. You just threw a fastball down and in, alright, now think where the batter's assuming you'll pitch, and go somewhere else, or a different pitch.
For instance my RTTS pitcher has a knuckleball, knuckle curve, changeup and four seamer. I'll use two of those for each battr. I know what I need for my fifth pitch, I'll add in a sinker and be a mashup of the entire early/mid 2000s Red Sox rotation and have my defense hate me for it, but...point is, I got drafted by, yes, the Sox. I'm in AAA right now with my RTTS guy and yes, I altered the sliders/difficulty to suit my tastes, but as arule with pitching...well....don't show every pitch to a batter. For instance, say I'm facing the top of the Orioles order, for the first batter I'll throw a four seamer to start, then switch back to the changeup, for example. Hopefully at that point I'm 0-2. If not, then....okay but I have many many ways to go pitch wise. It's all about strategy, really and outthinking and outpitching the battr. I know that sounds insanely obvious, but...pitching is as much about mind games as how hard you throw in RTTS. Or, you don't need maxed out attributes or stats to win. In RL the best pitchers are the smart ones. Not the hardest throwers after all. A flyout on one pitch is as good as a three pitch strikeout.
Nah. I'm in the Cubs org right now.
I haven't gotten a fourth pitch yet, working on that. But I'm hanging out in Double A Tennessee.
With voiced menus, this game would be truly amazing. it's still pretty awesome, but that would blow my mind.
At Liam ok thanks, I guess I will go and take the plunge eventually.
I suppose you have to change a bunch of settings? From what I can remember from the show 08, I had to set fielding and stuff like that to auto and the pitching interface to classic to get the standard each button is one pitch.
Did you also turn off the crowd noise? I'd like to have it on a least a little.
Greetings Moritz.
At Jace sooooo, you got drafted with the socks. Let's see here, I guess I take a pithcer role with the Yankees then XD.
Greetings Moritz.
I have the crowd at it's lowest setting. I also have play by play turned way down as well.
I have turned on as many auto settings as possible
One thing I've noticed about RTTS which I'll mention. There is an option to have the CPu autoadvance base runners for you, but RTTS seems to ignore this, so if you hit a ball and it bounces around in the corner, you won't automatically try to stretch it in to a double or triple. there were times I really short changed myself big time.
RTTS AI, calm the fuck down with being weird with trade logic. Angels dealt Mike Trout to the Mets (lolwhat?) for a starting pitcher. Suddenly the Mets are good. Well, then...
A's got Bryce Harper and promptly DH his ass. B Billy Bean's still there in RTTS AI I see. Texas ends up raiding the Yankees lineup and Houston manages to land Chris Sale.
Me? I ended up in Toronto and got called up. Apparently the Blue Jays pitching situation is godawful. On the other hand, what the actual fuck is Zach Grienke doing in Baltimore? RTTS Ai, you need fixing up...again. It's what...a decade since it went weird.
EDIT: Tried my usual shortstop, and remembering why I don't like hitting as much. And tried making a reliever. Ended up on the Cards. Well, this is gonna go good, apparently
I kind of enjoy the AI honestly. it's like baseball, but in an alternate dimension.
It is,totally is. It's far funnier in franchise mode as well, the RTTS AI is infuriating when it looks like you get called up, then they trade for a better player and keep you in the minors. Toronto's a weird weird team right now for me. Started another pitcher to see if I can stay on the Sox. Up to five save files right now...
