So I just transitioned to a new computer, and am trying to use this with my ps4 controller to enable it as a gamepad. Worked fine with Killer Instinct when I loaded it, but for some reason doesn't jive with games like Shadow Line. I had this issue on my previous computer, but can't remember how I fixed it.. anyone have any thoughts"?

Yes. And I think I know what the issue is.. certain games use xinput and it doesn't work for those. I got it to work on my laptop previously... but I have no idea what I did back then. It was a few years ago.
ds4 windows makes your controller work like a xinput xbox controller, but doesnt turn off the ds4's dinput, so, maybe, turn on hide ds4 controller? it is un supported, but still, try
Yeah, that's definitely not it. And it looks like it's not using xinput. I just tested it with a game that allows switching between xinput and direct input. It only responds when I'm using direct input, but not with xinput.
is ds4 windows actually open? i'm sorry but i gotta check this, and, do you have keep running when closed checked? because thats what ya need, or closes minimises, thats what you need

well then, if ds4 windows isnt using your controller as xinput, the, i guess make sure what it tryed installing is installed properly, and then if that doesnt work then i have no idea
Anyone else got any thoughts? Because everything is installed properly here... and it's frustrating me, because I know I've gotten this to work before. I'd also prefer not to buy another gamepad if I can help it.
i have one thing last to say. are you 100 million percent sure the game uses xinput? because i have never had problems with ds4 windows and havent herd of a blindy game using xinput besides top speed 3
First of all, connect your ds4 controller using a usb cable just to make sure it is actually connected. Does windows make the new device is connected sound when opening ds4 Windows? If it does your ds4 XInput pad, is connected. It should also send you a notification saying something like "Setting up virtual Xbox 360 controller". If neither of those things happen, try to press start and stop a few times when the program is open. If that doesn't work either delete your ds4 windows appdata folder. If you can't find it just delete the program folder itself. After that open ds4 again, select program folder and press enter, select the step 1, Instal XXdriver, then select Step 2, Install virtual Xbox 360 driver, after that wait for a minute and press finish. Did anything change?
A lot of modern day games use XInput (GTA V, KI, Madden, SFV, Injustice 1 and 2) so yes, this probably is a game that does support XInput.

Shadow Rine/line does have XInput and it supports vibration.

The game connects. Again, I can confirm it works with both KI and sequence Storm. Not with Shadow Line, for whatever reason, even when I go into the game and reset the settings to defaults. I will try reinstalling the driver, but seeing as it works with other games, I'm not sure what the issue could be...
Yet another oddity. I copied over my previous version of ds 4 windows, because I thought it was an option I needed to change. But it still doesn't work.

that last updated in 2016, i'm sure of that, and if not, then its still insanly old
Shadow Line has a way to switch controler types as well I believe. Try to switch to each one, save your options, then try using your controler. If that doesn't work, switch to another controler mode. If it still doesn't work, start with the first controler mode, save your options, and close the gane with Alt F4. If you reopen the game and it still doesn't work, just rinse and repeat with each controler type until it works. If even that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to do from there.
There are only two types in Shadow Line. Xinput and direct input. Xinput is the one that doesn't work. Direct input works, but for some reason only with the analogue stick and not the dpad.
Oh, that. Yeah, I think you have to map your buttons. To my knowledge, there is no default button mapping, and if there was I wouldn't know because I always map my buttons manually anyway.
Buttons are mapped and work with direct input.
