And today, I plan on finding out how to pull the best april fools joke. Would like to pull one that is alot like the ones that Fred and jorge from the harry potter books would pull. For the rest of the month, I don't know.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. @titan_of_war, scrambled eggs in the microwave or on the top of the stove?
I've done both, but find the microwave slightly easier, then again the top of our cooker doesn't work anyway.

I thought about an April fools joke but couldn't think of anything sufficiently interesting at this stage.

Okay, things aren't too fun right now, my lady is having yet another "lets make sure the cancer is gone", type of test, while I have successfully completed yet another short story, and have no dam idea  where to publish it since all the web zine editors I've seen are complete and utter morons who deserve to have their brains pulled out through their nostrils with rusty  coat hangers, ---- oh wait, that would first require brains! big_smile.

On the plus side we've been playing a lot of crazy party which has been good, actually nice to play together. I've also run across a new horror writer, Jonathan Janz who I think I'm going to like.
I wouldn't go as far as calling him the next Stephen King, but it's good someone is writing traditional, scare your pants off type of horror stories.

I have got a new microphone, so when I can nurve myself into trying audacity, I'll look at hopefully making recordings.
Reaper went very badly, since it refused to recognise that I had a mike even after I installed all the things.

Hopefully I can get audacity to make more sense since doing recordings would be nice, both game demonstrations and songs, but we'll see.

My TVI is gonna help me, i'm pritty sure were going to use something called the induction cooktop.
It's like a stove but you can't burn your self on it, and it's not really a stove.
Well it is but it only has one burner and you can't cook everything on it but i hope eggs will do nicely. So i can't wait for that. But it's in second hour so i have to get past my reading class sadface lol.

LOL.
I'd actually really like to do this, learning to make scrambled eggs. I should ask my TVI if I can do that as one of our lessons. We're actually doing some cooking ones this year and next, so.

Well, not much new here. I am enjoying the easter "holidays". Yes, for us students, they're not complete holidays because we still have some work to do. They're not even called holidays but they're called lecture-free time.

Yeah, I am playing Crazy Party again too, but mostly multiplayer, which is fun, but can be very frustrating at times (especially when you only get games you absolutely fucking hate). But overall it is really fun.
I am now eagerly waiting for Sonar islands which I hope will release this month, since it already got a delay.

I started to use TW blue for Twitter lately and was starting to get motivated to do a soundpack for it. But since I wanted it to be themed around an audiogame, for which I would have had to use this game's sounds, in which case I wouldn't be able to publish that soundpack here because of this new policy, I quickly lost motivation.
Sorry that sentence was a bit long, hopefully still understandable.

A great month to you all!

Greetings and happy gaming, Julian

Pretty interesting. I just hope to get something done over the next month. That's all I really want.

Update on the eggs thing. I asked and we're doing that next time we do a cooking activity.

@8, if you'de like to surprise her or him lol. Thisis how i made it, i don't no if this is how they will. But this is how i did.

1. have 2 small bols.
2. have a pan not a pot, that's what i used.
3. take how ever amount of eggs you want, and this is how i cracked mine. I just smacked the bottom part of the egg on the top part of the counter. Then wen it's cracked hold the egg with your finggers on both sides then with the bottom of the egg facing down, pull the shell apart over one of the bols and the egg will fall in. You might want to check for any egg shells after. Then you can put the shells in the other bol.
4. Get some butter, it doesn't matter what kind stick or not. Then get a spoon, now you don't need a lot here so just scoop some from the top. PUt that in the pan, you might need to scrape it off of the spoon.
Then turn what ever your cooking on on. Now i used an induction cooktop i don't no what your gonna cook on, but you can ask your school to get one for you if you'de like. Heres a link on what induction is and how safe etc, https://www.marthastewart.com/7982499/i … explained.
5. once you turn it on the butter should start melting, This is wen you can put the eggs in. Then you just ster with a spoon for mabey 5 minits and you can put them on a plate or bol.
And i also forgot one thing, once you have how many eggs you want in one bol, take a fork and ster them around for a little because the white part and the other part don't like to mix together. ANd it doesn't matter if you don't get it right it will taist the taste the same.

Me, I begin april with a bad start. Its Early friday morning, and we got a quite of a storm already, for a fiew hours until an actual morning rised. Combine that with the rain that has been happening a fiew days in my place now, this friday is all about getting the house cleaned out. And dry, For the entireity of the day. Not to mention no electricity, no internet, and the water is also off until the evening, Where they all become available again. Wel At least I can spend time chatting and katching up with my family about what was going on  with their dayly routine while we were cleaning things up, so that helps make things easier at least.

If university is at all like mine, i remember April-mid may being crazy as hell, with final deadlines and such even when lectures weren't happening, then a wonderful kickback period from last exam or hand in date until June, then yet another kick back over the summer which was nice.

I think I have vaguely heard of these induction things, but never tried one.

Myself, to make scrambled eggs, I just crack a couple of eggs, usually by smacking the middle of  the shell a couple of times with the blunt edge of a knife, then, grasping the two sides with my fingers and pulling apart.

I then stick them in a large jug, with a dash of milk and some salt and pepper, and get out my rotary whisk.

To anyone who doesn't know what these are, this is a device with beaters at the bottom and a handle you can turn to spin the beaters around. Dam good for making scrambled eggs, and indeed coco with frothy milk.

A few seconds spinning the eggs with that insures thatthey're nicely mixed, I then bang them in the microwave, pulling them out every thirty seconds or so for a quick stir with a fork.

For most people, it works out at about 90 seconds per egg plus thirty seconds for each additional egg, though for my lady who likes very hard scrambled eggs, I give an extra few seconds.

It's also nice to do when doing bacon on the grill as well, to make a decent breakfast, albeit I only tend to do it sometimes, actually, it'd be nice to do again, especially if we can get some of those fantastic smoked venison sausages from our socialist butcher big_smile.

Oh and no, he's not a socialist butcher like someone from Russia's totalitarian tdays who killed lots of people, he's an actual butcher who sells amazingly nice fresh meat products, who also happens to be a socialist. Since I'm a Marxist myself, albeit a rather depressed and synical marxist who no longer believes any sort of reasonable human governnace is ever possible because humans are stupid, we get on very well big_smile.

Either way, my lady's test went okay which is good.
Lockdown is officially ending, though lots of people over here are going totally bonkers in terms of public displays, so we'll hold on with the shielding, at least for the time being.

On the plus side, I'm getting book reviews written, having more story ideas, and playing a lot of the cool games that are coming out recently, I'm quite impressed with hell hunter.

So, not too bad, or at least not as bad as things could be, though I suppose that's always true.

@Dark, as per usual, my thoughts are with you and your lady

Ah, I'm on vacation as well, with one more week to go. I'm in my last term of Form 3, so which means I'm going into what they call Upper school. I believe in England its GCSE classes? Eitherways, I chose Modern Studies and Business studies for my classes, so it should be fun. Not much really planned this month, aside from the Vaxcines coming in on Tuesday, however I'm not going to take them yet, as the bulk is the Chinese one.
Hope you all are fine and stay safe

@Titan, I always meant to learn to cook more, mostly I usually content myself with throw things in correct cooking device for correct time and wait, so lots of relatively okay stuff, but nothing that's too elaborate.

@Jayjay, it seems from current scans that my lady is okay cancer wise, albeit I think it had a general effect on her health, so thanks for the good wishes.

On the plus side, I am managing to get her into audiogames, she's really enjoying crazy party, albeit just the minigame side of things at the moment, heck, I need to get back to the battles myself, since while I've done all the gyms and unlocked %70 of the cards, I'm not really great at deck building or sure where the strategy has gone at this point since the last update.

On the plus side, I'm really impressed at hell hunter, indeed the only reason I haven't bought the game is that I'm so far through the demo, I might as well finish it completely at this stage, great sound, a surprisingly good story, and to say that combat is basically just a redux of blindquest 1, it can be quite tricky in parts.

I've also put a link to my book reviews under the "website", link of my profile.

Of course, when they get posted depends upon when the webmaster of fantasybookreview.co.uk gets to post them, and he's a busy chap, what with having to field reviews from other people and post to the site and being father of two children and such, however they all get posted over time, and its a nice way to share my thoughts about the books I've read.

@18 the effects greatly differs baste on a person's aidge, overall health etc, or at least I think that, because for someone I know it was really really bad but for me its something like floo, with pritty high boddy tempriture, and acasionel pain in the chest, and some small trubble breething that I got used to by now smile
also if you want to try it yourself you can come and contract it from me, for free smile

@Meatbag, hope things are going okay.

Well over here things haven't changed much, however I can say my lady and I are currently reading through the hunger games prequal, balad of snakes and songbirds, which is, actually really! good! probably good enough to make me rethink my stance on prequals not always being as good as the main series.

I particularly like the way that it paints the young president Snow as neither a super likable phantom menace anakin skywalker type character, nor as entirely wrong, there are times one likes him, there are times one feels sorry for him, there are times one regards him as a total scumbag! and yee gods, if we thought collins was finished with different nasty takes on the Hunger games, here she's really interesting.

I also appreciate the political philosophy in the book, or rather the quotes from locke Ruseau and Hobbs that start it, and are ideas which Snow himself grapples with. Hobbs particularly, the notion that since the state of nature without society is so dam aweful, any government, even the most despotic and tyranical government, is better than none, is a really interesting one.

Reminds me of the fun time I had in my own political philosophy course, albeit that also involved me having to spend the night before hand in date writing an essay on Karl Marx with nothing to sustain me but a large bag of jelly babies and a pint of red bull big_smile.

Since the essay was one of the few that didn't actually count towards the final grade, I'd left it late, though oddly enough it did rather well, ---- then again, it was red! Bull, clearly a communistic sort of energy drink big_smile.

So preoccupation with panam probably explains why there are fewer site updates for this week, albeit I tried to get a couple of things done nonetheless.

Hope everyone else is having a nice enough April.

@20 I read the book too, well I listened to the german audiobook big_smile And I quite liked it for getting to know president Snow a little better and getting some insight in his personality. I was also quite impressed about how much the hunger games "gameplay" and setting and all taht improved from the sequel to the start of the series.

@Ciri, yep, I've just sent off a review for Ballad of songbirds and snakes, a great take on the world, and a fascinating character study, I gave it a 9.4-10, which is pretty unusual for me, since I try to be fair with my ratings and not give out high marks too often.
The review isn't up yet, though you can now find a link to all my book reviews under the "website", link in my profile.

Well things have been quiet, I've mostly been alternating Sonar islands with working on fiction, articles about fictionfor the fantasbybbookreview.co.uk blog,  and more reviews, plus watching through Angel season 2 with my lady, which has been good.

Lockdown is easing over here though, so hopefully we can at least go out for coffee soon, even if this town where we live is pretty dire for actually doing anything or making friends.

On the plus side, sonar islands rocks! I'd definitely recommend to anyone, even if me wandering around in the middle of my living room in circles probably looks bonkers big_smile.

Hope everyone else is having a fun April.

@Dark, sorry to hear about your lady but glad it seems things are on the up and up. Rotery whisk, have to check it out. Just been playing pokemon yellow recently and Manamon two when I'm not working. I am trying to get all manamon but have about fifty more to go. Speaking of eggs though, recently I went to crack some in a bowl to make some bread and for the first time found a rotten one, and where did I crack it? In the bowl where the bread mixture was of course.

@bigdog, sorry to hear about your egg sploits, I imagine you quoted homer simpson, doh! big_smile.

My lady is doing better, although  the cancer has had a few after effects, which we're hoping will be better soon, hopefully by the time we both get our second vaccines and can actually go out for once, albeit we'll still need to find somewhere to go.

I really should start on Manamon 2. At the end of 19 when it was first released, I decided to finish Manamon 1 for %100 before starting the second game. I managed it, and it was a fantastic experience, but it did leave me a bit Manamonned out, then between my lady's Cancer and Covid, I haven't wanted to get into something that intensive, but I probably should just give it a go now, I do remember the start seeming pretty interesting, and there being some fun new mechanics to get into, as well as lots of the collecting and exploring which is always good, plus there is Starfire's list of Manamon to have a look at as well.

2021-04-21 13:19:30

This Friday will be my first month at the center for the blind I am at. Yesterday was not a great day do to the stress of using the bus to get to the center and back to the apartment we all stay at during the week. On our way back I along with two ladies who are at the training center with me had to find our way back from one of the bus stops as one bus the one we were on had a mess and the second one was not running right. I realized from that trip I can't see as much as I used to depending on the environment. Also, I noticed I tend to respond better to female voices do to my hearing loss. I do want to also say when I experience sensory overload I have a very hard time focusing and I have to trust other people who can guide me to the right place. I did experience that when I was traveling to the center. I certainly need to find a way to better manage stress, if it does get bad enough I can get a bit Dizzy and have to sit in a quiet place for a while. I am not sure how other people handle sensory overload? another question I have is What do you all do to help to stay calm in a stressful time period?
