What programs would you use to do this? I've done some googling, but the only results I got were sites that look pretty untrustworthy to me (hell fucking no am I going to download anything off of file hippo). Anyone got any ideas?

You can open the file with goldwave and then save it as.
vlc media player
Thanks for the Goldwave tip @2, and also ty for the other suggestions!
format factory is fine too, except uncheck all the adware. Filehippo used to be pretty good if you got the regular install instead of the adware installer.
Foobar2000 can also be good at this too (assuming obviously it can open and decode said video file).
Looks like audacity will do the conversion for you too, asuming that it can decode the video file. You basicly import the video and export the audio.
Pazera Audio Extractor is my choice here. It can be downloaded as a portable version without needing to install anything.
