this is a crosspost from r/blind r/techsupport and r/android questions. so i was rooted and this will probably take me off the list of people hwo will do it again. but oneday it just decided to boot to the boot loader. and the boot loader is not unlocked but i  do have the unlock key but when i try with fastboot it just says enable oem unlock in android witch i cant get to. not my main phone but would be nice to make this one work

just flash a stock rom, it doesn't need unlocking a bootloader, then try again.

so a stock rom doesnt need me to unlock the boot loader? and as in a motorolla provided rom or a genaric android rom? if motorolla provided, then i'm not sure where to find it

you don't need  to unlock a boot loader to install stock rom, i am sure you will find instructions how to flash it on xdadevelopers forum, just make sure to type exact model in the search box like motorola xt and 4 numbers.
