it has been authenticated for a long time because i have backed up that authentication key file. but i try to log in with sine in with google and i choos my account, then it says just a moment and then it just compleatly forgets what i did and puts me back on the login sine up screen with nothing filed out. and i even tryed typing my user name and password and the confermation of the password witch is labeld as a 6 diget code and that didnt work. i tryed 2 possible passwords

Yes, but the updater package I'm using makes a web call to fetch the file and crashes with whatever properties my cloud storage sets as default. That updater package is open-source, I've debugged it before to figure out what was the issue and now I can't remember. I might have to fix the package itself, looks like a bug to me.

I would think that signing in with Google would be the same thing, not sure why you are having issues. Can you go to reddit.com and sign in? After that, can you create new posts?

When I go to reddit.com and I'm logged out, I see a Login button. I'm sorry I still have a hard time to figure out what is the issue, I hope someone else here has a better idea and can help. I want to figure this out, because if you have the issue, someone else probably does too. I will say that you need to be signed in on reddit.com with the same account you are using for RedditForBlind if that helps.

can't you just use the forgot password flow from the site? Then to be sure after password reset, you can delete the token.rt file in UserConfig and relaunch the app.

I released version 0.97.1 which has bug fixes so that the app should crash less often. I also wish the updater works now. I tried it and it worked strangely enough. But I think that I forked the updater code for version 0.97 few months ago and forgot. Since people were on 0.92, I suspect that I didn't fork the code at that time to fix the content disposition bug. Maybe I'm wrong, please let me know if it fails to update.

hmm strange, it worked here with no issues, only um it installed 1 windows feature and then i run excicutable file and It nicely installed new version.

Damn it, I hate when I'm the only one experiencing things. I wonder because I use quad 1 as my DNS, if it's blocking access or something, and the updater is just falling through silently.

Yeah that's bizarre. The way the updater works is that it goes to check a file on my website which has information on the latest version and then it compares with your current version. Maybe you can authorize redditforblind.org domain?
