@GrannyCheeseWheel, what do you often end up opening the website for? Are there some low hanging fruits I could tackle?

@GrannyCheeseWheel, what do you often end up opening the website for? Are there some low hanging fruits I could tackle?
New version available (0.97):
- Customize how the screen-reader reads posts and comments with the template engine!
- Quickly access 5 different read-outs for posts and 5 for comments, choose which one is read by default!
- Change the sorting of posts, comments and search results!
- Vew your subscriptions, recent activity, subscribe / unsubscribe to subreddits!
- Multitask by opening new tabs, moving between them, closing them, just like in a browser!
If you already have the app, launching it should prompt you to install the update, you can read the changelog, just press install and the app will update and launch.
If not, download it from https://www.redditforblind.org!
Next, I want to add support to private message, friends, viewing your account info. I wish I could easily add the front page equivalent, but looks like it's not in the Reddit API, so I will have to make a custom implementation of that feature, meaning it will probably not be the same, but it should be the same energy.
oh yeh!
thanks for update.
BTW in previous version the screen reader's pich was changing when interacting with posts.
Did it fixed?
um sorry for not mentioning it earlier, I downloaded this app a or 2 days ago.
Thanks.
I fail to see how pitch could be affected. I am using the Tolk library to output to screen-readers. Which screen-reader are you using? Maybe the screen-reader uses default speech settings. In that case, it shouldn't be just with posts, but the entire app.
Maybe you are referring to the sound played when a post/comment has replies? It's a short click sound. You can find it in UserConfig\Sounds\Sound_Expandable.wav. Go open that file and see if it's that. If you don't like that sound, you can change it.
i'm using nvda with eSpeak.
uh no i'm not meaning that sound, actually i like it .
also when i run reddit's new 0.97 version i get this:
Reddit.Exceptions.RedditUnauthorizedException: Reddit API returned Unauthorized (401) response.
at Reddit.Models.Internal.Request.ProcessResponse(IRestResponse res)
at Reddit.Models.Internal.Request.ExecuteRequest(RestRequest restRequest)
at Reddit.Models.Internal.Request.ExecuteRequest(String url, Method method)

at Reddit.Controllers.Account.GetMe()
at Reddit.Controllers.Account.get_Me()
at reddit_for_blind.RedditForBlind.CreateRedditClient()
at reddit_for_blind.RedditForBlind.Run()
at reddit_for_blind.RedditForBlind.RunSafe()
Weird, looks like the authentication failed, can you delete your token.rt file and relaunch the app? Let me know if this works. Also, if anyone else has this issue, let me know.
I'll check it out. Good to know that sound can be changed as it's really harsh.
Edit: Oo, seems I'll have to redownload. I get this error when the update runs after a few seconds:
System.IndexOutOfRangeException dialog Index was outside the bounds of the array.
@Origine
Have you considered setting up a paypal.me link on the reddit for blind page?
i use this dailey and this only makes that even more likely. but how do i sine in. i am using the app but to make new posts requires me to sine in to the websight and i sined in with google and that isnt working so then how can i figure out my 6 diget code
that works?
For people in the U.S. The key to switch sorted is not the key to the left of the number row 1, it's the key to the right of semicolon, the apostrophe key.
also it doesnt work for me. using my password as a 6 diget code doesnt work
The fact that it says six digit code it's a mislabeled text entry over that field element.
its saying please match the requested format
Not sure how it works, because when you create a new post (Ctrl+N), it just redirects you to the Reddit website, so if you need to login, it's just the standard way. If your already signed in I thought it would just work?
i'm not though. had to change windows installs but kept reddit for blind on a nother drive. and the sine in with google option lets me choos my account but then just does nothing after a wile just goes back to reddit with out logging in
@Defender, does that mean you like the app? I might add one when I get to version 1.0 below of the download link. I'll see if hosting costs get expensive. I added a CDN two months ago so downloads should be super fast now.
I'm a bit worried that two people had issues with updating so far. Did it work for anyone? The index out of range issue, I've seen that before, it was caused by the MIME type of the zip, but I thought I set it right.
I didn't know it would be a different key on american keyboards, thought that enum was mapped to a key, not a character. I'll have to test with an american keyboard or update the doc. I'll make a UI to remap shortcuts then since it can be hard to guess what key is what.
it gave me that error aswell
Sorry for that, I will have to debug that tonight. I think it has to do with the content disposition / MIME type. I might have to fork the updater to fix that bug.
i'm just compleatly unsure how to log in considering my problem
