Do you want to learn to use ZDSR well? Do you want to participate in crafting an ideal user experience? Do you want to promote ZDSR for your local community? We sincerely invite you to take part in reading, testing and discussing the ongoing project of the English documentation for ZDSR. Our goal is to create a book which is easy and nice to read, but informative and useful at the same time. And so we have decided to publish our work chapter by chapter on our brand new forum. You are welcome to read it, propose changes and report any errors, inconsistencies and so on. There are only two of us working on the documentation, which is a staple of a good software experience. Please visit this link to enter our forum and participate in the new adventure. Let's strive for perfection together!

I'm interested...
Edit: Initial thought, the forum is slightly more complicated to navigate than it could be. For example, all headings are at level 3, regardless of whether they're in the correct hierarchical level. Also, the button that allows you to adjust your topic follow setting should be labelled. Something like "Follow settings" would do the trick nicely in my opinion.

If you for whatever reason wish to contact me, the best way to do so is through Discord (@Minionslayer0). You'll get the quickest response times, and by extension, a higher priority. I also sometimes post my thoughts (for the better or worse) over on Mastodon at @Minionslayer.

OK, I will fix that ASAP.

Another thought, for the button label of the notifications, you should mention that the user is accessing notifications. Something like "Notifications: 0 new", would  obviously replacing 0 with the actual number of unread notifications.
The mark all as read button is unlabeled when arrowing through the page, but not navigating by button with B.
Above each user, the first name of there username is announces, such as:
M
Minionslayer
or,
N
Nuno.
What's up with that?
On some pages, some button labels are blank, but on other pages, they have accessibility labels. Additionally, NVDA only sometimes announces whether an item is expandable, other times just announcing it was a button, such as the notifications or profile dropdown.
The checkboxes are inaccessible in the list of notifications to receive either by web or by Email.
Actually, checkboxes are just completely inaccessible everywhere on the site.

Brilliant! as a tech instructor working at an organisation for the blind here in Victoria Canada, it is my duty to keep up on what is new, and I think this product could defenatly have potential. Yes we have nvda but I think their are still a need for paid for products, especially in workplaces where  nvda won't be able to be used.

So can any one please tell me what makes this screen reader different than NVDA?

best regards
never give up on what ever you are doing.

1. Its much faster.
2. I thas many interesting features like monitoring, control labeling, built-in feature similar to hotspot clicker.
3. It has great support for Office, much better than NVDA, same for VS, Android STudio, Eclipse, REAPER or Adobe Audision 3.
Finally, the developer actually cares about his users.

Greetings I'm interest too. I wish to promote this product in my comunity, i'm from Serbia and several countries in my region can understand serbian language. For this reason i think that we can start work on translating zhengdu on serbian language. Instead of this i would like to say any foult of this program. Program have potential to be good but require lot of work on this. It is true that zhengdu is faster than nvda but not so much, olso i do not see features of zhengdu in office. Zhengdu do not support work in adobe reader, adobe digital. fine reader, and probably another softwares which i do not try. Voices must be beter for languages which not english and chinese. For people from countries like Turky, Greece, Serbia, et etc, it is hard to understand voices such as sapy5 or espeak... Also bussines version which do not require internet connection, require dongle device. It is hard to get this device, especialy for people from regions which not linked with others, I mean on: middle east, southern-eastern europe, some countries in africa south america etc etc. Disadvantage for this software is a requiring of internet connection for all time using computer. Try to think next situation: blind person is bought a version of zhengdu which require internet connection. For unknow reason internet connection is missing. Person do not have possibility to use screen reader which is regularly purchasing. He or she must turning narator or another screen reader, probably nvda. I wish to developers doing good work on this program, because i thinking that we need more advanced screen reader, but unfortunately, currently this program have morre disadvantages than advantages. It is only my opinion, and i do not eyect this software, i give suggestions with hope to become better. My english is not my native language and i hope that we can understandn me.

@7 all your reasons except 2/3 are subjective. what makes it better then nvda in word / vs code? And what is hotspot clicker?

kind regards and have a nice day,
marro

@marro I would imagine it's a Golden Cursor-type feature where you can set a mouse position, save it, and virtually click at it. Of course I'm not sure, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Yes, but here you can create app-sjpecific schemes, as well as global schemes.

@Nuno,
Perhaps you should seriously consider doing tutorials or guides on switching from JAWS and or NVDA to this screen reader, if it's as good as you say it is. Just saying it's faster, in my opinion, is not a compelling enough reason for you to say it is much better, as NVDA and other screen readers are fast enough. Also, when you say it has better Office support, what can it do that NVDA cannot do? What are these other features, like the one similar to hotspot clicker? The labelling functionality is the only one that really stands out for me. You said in another thread that it doesn't support PDF and EPUB readers outside of Google Chrome. These are a few disadvantages that you should consider listing, as they greatly determine if someone would like to switch screen readers. And I had to laugh when you implied that NV Access, developers of NVDA, don't care about their users. I mean, never mind that they dedicate their time to provide a free, yes free, with all features in tact, screen reader for Windows users, training material and support. The same for JAWS, and even Narrator. Where are the training materials for ZDSR? Where is the support? A Telegram group...you must be joking.

There are many tutorials in the Telegram groups. These are audio tutorials created by me, because I wantedt o demonstrate the features. I will reupload these on forum shortly.
