First, as a file manager, go for the default one or total commander, an awesome one.
And put files on a flash drive and connect it to the box.
Second, for internet browsing, use Brave.

@2
i couldn't find it's default file manager. Where to find that?

2020-12-06 22:32:40

If I remember right, it is a Xiaomi, so it doesn't have an app drawer.
The file manager on it is called mi file manager.
If you can't find it, go to the play store and search for it or total commander or Files by Google, all 3 are good.

btw. voice search isn't an option cuz it doesn't understand when i talk to voice search within English words due to Turkish interface.

for files total comander. for using the internet, use firefox.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them going again. I trust you are not in too much distress.

@9 I would install apps using the play store web page.

https://play.google.com/store

i should admit it made me smile but, playstore isn't the exact answer.

FOr instans: the soft mentioned above (total commandor) thhat i couldn't find.   there was an app there called file commandor.

@Boo15mario
1.Filling Would filling these urls in playstore search box bring the apps You've mentioned?
2.is there a way of getting these urls from Your post and paste them on playstore search box since i don't have a browser nor do i have a working file manager loaded on my tv box?

actually it will be nice if i could find one android tv box accessibility guide.

2020-12-12 00:07:46

@14 you would visit the link on your computer and have the playstore install it to your android device. for example I can install the nova launcher from my pc on to my phone using the playstore on the pc.

2020-12-12 10:37:51

@Boo15mario
How will i do it, will i use emulator or what?

Somehow my play store is messed up or something. It won't let me install app from Play Store via computer browser. Lol

@Socheat
when i press install button jaws says unawailable as well which means the button is inefective.

2020-12-12 13:05:17

first, you need to be connected to the same google account on both devices, the pc and the tv box.
then,click the install button
on the next dialog screen thingi, you could select the device you wish to install the app to.
if you're connected to the internet with the tv, then the app will download and install no problem.
Warning: in the playstore, a developer could specifically state they want the app to be available only on some devices. If this is the case and the tv isn't one of the officially supported devices, you'll get a this app is not compatible with this device message when you try to install it from either the browser or the playstore app on the tv. I had the same problem with the netflix app, couldn't find it on the playstore on the tv and the link showed that message. So, in these cases, you need to get the apk file from somewhere, prefferably apkmirror, then sideload it with some methods too long and device dependent to discuss in this post.
if you want more info, ask here, and I'll try to answer promptly, if I have the knowledge my self, of course.

@bgt lover
Firstly when i check my apps on my google account i can see my existing android apps via computer so that means tv box and my computer are using the same google account but, still install buttton looks disabled.

2020-12-12 13:53:13

It used to work untill this month, when it just stopped doing that, android wants to copy Apple or something since they never allow instalations without your phone in hand and that is just plain stupid.

2020-12-12 14:02:31

@Angel
Any suggestion?

2020-12-12 18:18:49

well, it still works for me, so...
anyway, I think it's just a technical issue or something, they can't disable that feature. If this proves to be the case, I think I will kind of have nothing else to keep me on google enabled phones, so I'll either buy the huawei p40 pro, or switch to apple, or maybe build my own rom or something.
but I still think it will be fixed soon.
O, btw, did you try it in crome/edge/brave? I think it might only work on cromium based browsers untill the hypothetical issue is fixed.

2020-12-13 12:45:32

@22, just install the app from your phone dude.

@23, it stops working for me some months ago.

What i've started to think is those apps might be incompedible with Xiaomi tv boxs as well.
