Hi!
So, I have a problem with the midi keyboard. for some reason, I can't play serten cords. for example, the E mager cord.
is there a fix or a replacement? I would use my actual keyboard, but I don't have a midi cable. or the money to get one.

Its technically a problem but actually is not. Haha what happens is that sometimes computers are configured to allow a few (or more), keypresses at the same time. On top of that sometimes also you cant press a certain key convination. For example, i cant do a minor nine chord, though i have the keys that supocelly can do it, but the computer for some reason doesn't allow me to press this certain key convination, but it varies from computer to computer. For that reason (and to have more space and freedom with my hands), i had to purchase a controller. Still i do use the virtual keyboard from time to time, hehe.

It might be an issue with multiple keys pressed down with your specific keyboard. Do you have another one to try with? Just to double-check, adjust your polyphony options accordingly. Have you tried keyboards with n-key rollover?
This isn't a problem with reaper, it's a problem with your computer's keyboard. It is not able to register certain key combinations. For this to work reliably, you will need a different keyboard with something called N-key rolover, which is something that allows every key to register even if they are all pressed at the same time. Unfortunately, since this a feature that is not required for every day use, it's generally reserved for gaming keyboards, which can become a bit more expensive.
This is all true. Probably the easiest fix would be to just get a cotnroller, as it will be a lot easier to play on one of those anyway.
There's another solution.
Try doing step recording. You can record few notes of a cord once, and again record the other notes of that over that. This is time consuming, but if all that you want is some basic comping, then it might get the job done. Also, I believe you have to change the recording mode in Reaper somewhere in order to record notes over existing notes.

And he's right, you can't step record with the virtual keyboard. The virtual keyboard was never meant to be a complete solution.

I've tried this just now.
What you do is record partial cord first, and then again record the remaining part of cord over that. You will have to quantise the thing alot, but it will do the job.
Yeah that's different, it would also take too long to be worth it. Like mowing your lawn with a plastic spoon.
Actually, recording a song with qwerty keyboard itself is like massive annoying thing. So, if he is already doing that, may as well enjoy one more annoying thing.
And if he is careful, he can reuse the recorded cords again and again in the song. It won't be the masterpeace, but didn't I say that it's for getting done the job.
It would literally be faster to program the notes in.
At 14, how exactly do I do this? Can I even do it? Also, how do you get things to loop in reaper? I often have trouble with this.
When I say loop, I mean make it longer.
