hello
lets shair our experiences of working with reaper here
ask question, and lets have a nice discussion about it!
my question is, how I can add stereo field to my sound and how auto tune works?

2020-08-02 21:43:15

Any sound can be panned, but it works better if it's a mono source. I can think of two ways plus a way to constrict the stereo width of a stereo sound. Starting with panning, method one is to select the track, then use Alt left and alt right to pan it. The second method is to select the track and press control shift P to enter the track parameters dialog in Osara. From here, you can navigate to pan and use tab and adjust the slider or tab once more and enter a number. It's also worth noting that you can automate the panning using a plugin like transient driven autopan, or manually using envelope points.

Regarding constricting the width of the items on the track, you may go into the routing dialog with i, and find the width field and adjust it as needed. You'll also encounter a pan entry here as well, and it will accept numbers like 30%r, 90%L or center. So, you can both constrict the width and pan the track giving a sort of mono downmix to a stereo sound source.

hello.
I have 3 questions if you don't mind.
1, can a tracks width be automated?
2, say I have a 30 minutes audio recorded and I want to record something in its midst. in a way that when the second recording is going, the first file splits and it would play after the overdub recording that I've done on it, without it's contents being removed.
I hope I was understandable enough. big_smile.
3, can the XML music sheet that I exported from reaper, be printed in brail without use of anymore third party programs?
thank you!

Wasn't there a website to get information on Reaper, like a quick start guide?

2020-08-04 07:51:44

hello.
manamon_player, you can add a VST instrument to your midi track, and press windows b to open virtual midi keyboard. in there, you can use the letters and the number row to play.
also, if you have golden cursor, you can focus your mouse on one of the letters at your screen review, move it up or down and click to change your velocity
amir tajik, the easiest way is to make 2 tracks and add 1 files to each. other than that, you can turn crossfade off with alt x, and add your file to the same track

@5
1. With Dimension Expander you can automate the mix param.
2. I suggest to split the item using "a", record and then paste the item after the recorded item, then maybe glue it to make it not that chaotic. Maybe there's an easier way, but I know about this way big_smile.
3. Can't help ya with that, sorry. Maybe someone else will know.
@6
You'll need a VSTI loaded on a track. Make sured that it's armed, f7, and press alt b. The keyboard will show and hopefully work...
@7
Create 2 tracks, load the sounds and then render it.
@8
Thx, I have some Ample VSTIs already, so I'll take a look.

hello.
manamon_player, you can add an instrument using the insert menu then virtual instrument on a new track. or you can press control insert. after that, find a vst on the list provided. keep in mind that reaper only has 3 instrument, one of them, rea syn dr. is worthless, and one is a sampler that is another story entirely if you want to make any sound with it. the rea synth is your best bet to test how everything works
