I want to play this game again, preferably on PC. I'm pretty sure it's gone from the app store and I don't like having to actually move my body to make the character turn. It doesn't have to be pirated, I'll buy it if I can, I'd just like it, the download link goes to a domain that doesn't exist anymore.

Hi
I have the game, but I think it is not legal to share it.
Greetings and thanks.

sorry my english, is not my native language.

2020-04-05 05:33:52

I'm not able to buy the game because the desura website does not exist.

2020-04-05 13:10:56

since the game is disappeared, maybe not

2020-04-05 15:45:48

i'm looking for it too.

2020-04-05 18:21:46

I'd like to play it again too.
I played it back in september 2014 and i beat it.

Hopefully, we'll get a fully accessible open world game someday.

Extreme legal grayarea. Lost my pc copy myself, may or may not have the mac build. Unfortunately, Desura went up in a blaze of glory and took *all* the games with it. As such, Blindside is quite literally out of print, considering it was also removed from the app store.

would it be considered abandonwhere then? If the websight went up in a blaze of glory, and the game got removed from the appstore... That's technically abandoned in any case.

I think it's legal because it is abandoned

2020-04-06 00:23:38

I would like a download link for the PC version without the desura version so Please upload the game ASAP

2020-04-06 01:12:59

@Nick: The Desura version is the pc version. Desura was supposed to be a client-free alternative to Steam, it's pretty much itch.io before its time.
Technically? Yes, it's abandonware. Legally? Not sure. my understanding is the devs could not continue with the series because they ran out of funds.

Hi.
If anyone is interested in getting this game, please send me a PM

2020-04-06 12:27:46

hi. post number 15 check your pm.

2020-04-06 12:45:18

@post15, I sent you a PM

2020-04-06 12:50:55

It might be a good idea to get in contact with the developers to ask for their stance, to get this cleared up. Perhaps they'd not mind the game being hosted on agarchive. Until then, like Jack said, distributing on here, publically or otherwise could be problematic

@15 i also sent a PM

Just lol. After @pitermach just now said let's wait till we get the developer's stance on distribution. Three more pm's. His post isn't even a day old. NOw if it's been months and we've had radio-silence, then that's a bit more understandable. But what if I were to point them to this thread and they saw this right after post 18. That's a fine way to show appreciation for a developer now isn't it? Remember, a mainstream developer entering this forum is far more a reality than it was during the time of Blindside, so i wouldn't be so sure as to say there's no way it could happen. Especially considering Blindside was, for all intents and purposes, an indie game on an independent platform, we probably aren't that hard to find. At the time of this writing I have just contacted them. If you want to contact them,
[email protected]
and for the love of all that's good, be considerate. Let's not label them another bavisoft just yet.

@thetechguy: How do you know?
The initial audience kind of fizzled out, and for a cult hit, that is a big deal, because that could, and in this case did, lead to loss of funding.
They never officially declared it abandoned though. At best, the rediscovery of the game may want to make them re-release it on itch.io in its current form, since Indie game distribution has gotten much easier as of late. Or it may give us permission to host on a g archive. Or we may hear nothing at all, in which case it is probably ok to pursue the under-the-table distribution manner a bit further given a month's time. Keep in mind that we are in the middle of a pandemic, and a person checking an 8year old company's email address may very well not be the first thing on their mind, so seriously. Give it time.
If you want to distribute the game off forum, particularly if you, like me, were a paying customer and lost the game download, knock yourself out. But given the pm situation requires everyone post, there's no way to avoid public knowledge of distribution, and plus the right thing to do would be to first try contacting the developer before resorting to that.
The difference between this and Bavisoft is that Bavisoft pulled a bate-and-switch in 2009, asking those hosting copies of their games to take them down while still soldiering on with their partially complete shipping and not filling orders in a timely manner, and a lack of tech support not to mention a hard-to-reach sales department.
