I was looking at the scarlitte 2i2 usb interface, but wanna know of its accessibility before spending money on it
I use the Scarlet Solo interface and it's accessible. I imagine the 2I2 is the same.
I personally use the NanoCube VST, i don't know if these can be purchased in USA, I got mine from China.
I use the scarlet 2i2 and It works just fine, so it should work
Unless you're going for an advanced interface, most are accessible right out of the box. Half the time, the software is also not mandatory if it comes with any. I know a few people who use scarlet interfaces accessibly, diddo for steinberg.
I use a Behringer U4UMC404 HD and I can tell you the interface for this, and the Cascam US 1608 and 202 and 404 are accessible.
I have a 2i2 and yeah it's acceible. Just has buttons and knobs. I'll say you do have to switch to it's Asio driver to latency to not be an issue in your DAW so be aware of that, but it's great quality.
Slightly old topic, but while we're on the subject of Skarlet2i2's, would anyone recommend the Skarlet 2i2 over the Zenix q802 for durability, low-latency, interface noise or lack thereof, and sending system audio across the mixer through the usb interface? I.e. does it have the send buttons for monitoring/sending system audio that the q802 has?
Edit: I see the two of these are not comparable since the 2i2 is an interface, not a mixer. Anything over the Zenix q802 for both the d a w and for recording games, or is the q802 the best bet?
hi
I have a somehow related question. I've recently used a komplete audio 2 device. the most interesting thing about this device was that I had no issues with WASAPI when using it with ASIO driver. like I could use NVDA and my DAW in ASIO mode at the same time. I can't do the same with my other devices, so can someone tell me whether it's something device-specific or not? and in what devices can I achieve this?
thanks in advance
Which asio driver are you using? If you're using asio4all, that's the problem. Asio4all is a rough implementation and as generic as stuff gets. Problem is most mixers are actually going for it as their default driver now, while Komplete still uses its own asio driver. You can accomplish the same result on other devices though if you get a different asio driver, FL Studio comes with a good one that doesn't take control over the soundcard the way asio4all does. Even though FL Studio is not accessible,, you can use its asio driver with any software/hardware that you have.
as far as I know (I own a steinberg and will switch to the 18i20 latest generation) they both do have wdm driver capability, should you want to output all system audio through the interface, though it will glitch a bit. I think its just better to route NVDA to your interface from the synth options.
Of course, asio is a must for serious production.
@jack
I tried flstudio's asio driver, and it worked! The only problem I'm having with that driver is that I can't bring my buffer size lower than 256, while my sound card supports less. I can bring it down to 64 with It's own driver. Is there something I might be missing or doing wrong?
