you can fork using skype 7, just add the people you hate to a group and spam /fork over and over in that group. 
just kidding, doing it isn't good and people wi ll probably hate you if you fork them.

@25, forking is the act of taking a group and effectively "cloning" it. Essentially you type /fork in the message box, add all the members you want and repeat ad infinitum and you can fork endlessly.

he wants facebook messenger because majority of his contacts are on facebook. so, no need to raise the topic any more.
and #23, that messenger also have sounds, calling supports, stickers and imojies, you can also share files through it.

everything is wrong with it. no split windows, and jaws scripts work so much better on skype 7.

22 i totally disagreed. Skype 8 whitch i hate is you need read all the buttons for read messages and in skype 7 you can read only messages. If is any way for read only messages on skype 8 out of buttons like more options, i will happy.

If you are to continue using skype and you want a cleaner UI you can try the version from the Microsoft store, I'm personally using that version. It'll send you system notifications, the kind you can view with win+shift+v or win+v for pre-1809, and it does make sounds. Also it has split window view! For fb messenger, I haven't tried that messenger for desktop thing and should probably give it a gander. I've used Miranda NG and it is really well featured. Also to whoever said something about JAWS scripts, Doug Lee at dlee.org is still updating JAWS scripts for skype8 I think, or that might just be skype for business.

Looks like that messenger for desktop is just a wrapper for the website. So yet another Electron app or something similar. Doug Lee's scripts for Skype 8 are still being updated.
