Awesome, thanks! Does this let you rebuild the pack too? I want to lower the volume of the Screaming Strike music.

Link's already been taken down by Google... sadness.

Can you stick that up again? Google drive isn't letting me download.

Prier practice and preparation prevents piss poor performance!

Oh wait, doesn't pgdn work for lowering bgm? You may need to tap it though. Shall I make a modding-free version?

I don't speak as good as I write, and I don't listen as good as I speak.

Hi @nyanchan, Page Up and Page Down do nothing. I'm running 1.03, the 2013 release.

Well, I didn't thought programs which extracts BGT programs was legal.

Best regards SLJ.

They are talking about pack file extractors here, they usually aren't encryptec and thus it isn't illegal to extract the pack files. The content of those files however is most likely encrypted, so extracting those files won't do you any good, since you won't be able to do anything with its contents. You won't be able to listen to it, nor reducing the volume of the music.

Best Regards.

I would love a moddable version of screaming strike! always thought it should be that way anyway...

2018-12-04 12:10:38

I just tried the pack extractor to check how it was working. To refrene any kind of protestation, note that I've tried it on crazy party, for which the musics and sounds have allready been made public and essentially come from other sources, so no legal probleme behind this, that was only a small experiment.
But, and this is the fun part, I... don't know where the items were extracted. I didn't receive any warning or any option dialog allowing me to choose the extraction destination , it just started, took therty seconds and... pop, all the files were extracted successfully... somewhere. Any idea?

Best regard,
Simon

Temp maybe? or a new desktop folder

SLJ, the pack extractor itself isn't illegal. It is just a rapper for the standard pack create and extract functions in BGT that anyone can use and will not extract anything encrypted in a usable form without the key used to encrypt it.

the extractor should extract files to a packs folder in the directory you tried to extract from

for those that didn't get it originally, they're on my github in a more permanent location.

You can either get the entire repository at

https://github.com/cartertemm/bgt_includes

Or the pack extractor directly

Can someone build the binary for the extractor and creator?
