Hi,
So what is this thing. I actually got it to link to my irc server, so
if you type in the address in an irc client it connects to my server! But it
seems to allow you to run a website on your own computer. How do you do
that/ Like put the pages so you can access them by typing the address?

For that you ned to download a webserver like apache
(httpd.apache.org) or something similar. Make sure you have the http port
80 open so people can actually visit your computer as a website if you use
such a server.
Speaking of stuff like this, could I have a ventrilo server? Say
something like ventrilo.no-ip.info. Do I have to let them know first? Or can
I just...yeah, run it?
You can just... yeah, run it. It can only hold up to eight people but most
residential connections probably couldn't support more anyway.
Just
remember by opening up ports, especially commonly used ports like port 80,
you're opening yourself up to hackers. The fewer connections to the outside
the better for security, and permanant connections are the worst in terms of
vulnerability.

do you download the program for running a ventrillo server?

just downloaded the Apache thing, so how do I use it? If I run t it comes up
with errors, so how do I make it so you can access a certain directory? And
what should I have put for the server name and the other thing, the
domain?

Okay, so I downloaded the ventrilo server, and editted the ini
file. Now how do I set the server's host name and stuff? Doesn't say in
the documentation. And again, once I type the host name as
ventrilo.no-ip.info, then I can just start it. Correct? Fill in any mistakes
and correct me...

You need a port to work
it. The port for the version of the server I'm using is 3784.
Can anyone
tell me how to open that port?

All routers have different ways of changing settings. If you type in your
IP (whatismyip.com) and type that in you can probably get it that way. (the
username is usually admin and th epassword is usually blank)
