So this might have been covered before, but is there anyway to mitigate the amount of symbols such as "#"'s and "-"'s? It seems really fun, but it just spams symbols at me everytime I select a new menu option. Is there a way to review the text you get as well?

Turn ascii mode off, its in the options before you start a game, as for the second, I'm not a jaws user so dunno.

I have a bit to ask though. May be it's somewhere in this topic but I can't find and can't figure out what some items do, like orb of chaos and all that.

Why do ghost hunters have to hunt ghosts? Well, there's a fear of being ghosted out there. They may need therapy as well as their ghost hunting kit.

What about an encounter with death? (Sorry, had to make the reference).
Really though, I like these encounter things, they’re fun.
For a more serious suggestion, now that there are lords, what about a throne room encounter where one of them will ask to join your kingdom seeking refuge, they’ll bring their land or soldiers or gold or something with them, but also make the kingdom they left your enemy, even if you were allied with them before. Like, "I am a lord of X, but I feel like they've being doing y, and I no longer wish to serve them. Please, if you could offer me protection from z(y), I can offer you a and b."

Realy realy nice new stuff! I love it!
What about giving a limit of turns you can have in your throneroom? Or a general limit of turnpoints you can use in a year so you have to think about how to use tthem. HAHA, and you could throw some of the more useless timesteeling people into the dungeon cause they wasted your valuable time!

Oh, i think savegames are broken. I saved but i cant load a saved game. The game crashes.

Ah, great! Cant wait to have the new update to start a complete game!
You know that you could bring in a very very cool wastelands-game with this throneroom? For example a farmer hand over an old map to the king wich is showing the way to some kind of artefact? And now the king can send out a knight to find it. And with this you could make a little 10 or 20 or 30 screens long traveling with different traps or landscapes. Oh oh oh! You could implement a full new wastelands in this!:-)

Todays update while not a huge one has a few cool new features in it, aside from a few bug fixes and tweaks, we have a new staff member which can be gained only though the throne room, the games master allows you to play coin flip and sudden death at anytime from your staff screen, though I will be adding more games in future so let me know if you have any ideas, also the ability to attack and own the mystery slaver in the east, just one of many tweaks to the exploration screen we'll be seeing soon, also finally a new random race suffix called Wasting whereby the race will slowly lose it's lands, hopefully plenty to keep you guys going!

I m liking this game a lot. I do have a question. I am using NVDA. Is their a command to read the text line by line kind of like you would use the jaws cursor? in Jaws?

I'm enjoying it....just mad at the goblin kingdoms.

I wrecked the rebels  and was taking a turn off to get peasants and stuff.....what do I read on the report? the fact a goblin kingdom destroyed the rebels.

Oy. That was my kill you green skinned bastards. Cue me going on a massive murder spree against the goblins...

So....yeah. What do the chaos orbs do, I'm afraid to touch them, but I like how I spent my money upgrading the arena fully, and now I get 2m gold a season. Score...also it makes me laugh whenever I read my bandits stole all the gold from everyone. I'm a fan of getting bandits to work for me and steal everything everyone has...yep.

So, is it worth keeping your public opinion high or not? Mine's hovering around 39 or 40 as it is but I'm worried I'll get executed.

Not the longest list of things on the changelog today, but definitely a game changing update, today the Militia is now a full faction, and flags have been reworked to be a little bit more dynamic! Also Warsim has just surpassed 100'000 lines of code, it's getting huge!

Could you at some point maybe sit down and work on a customgame, where we can pick our starting race and customize other things like the number of indepndent kingdoms, minor bandits and goblin kingdoms and such maybe?

I also wonder how the fix for gold acquiring and arena gambling is going, since last I checked gambling in the arena was still the most steady source of income for your kingdom, though admitedly that was a few versions ago.

I agree with DRacoselene  though, particularly as far as things like choosing race goes, especially  with different races having different  strengths and weaknesses.

Dark, grab about 500 bandits, and just keep them around. Yes you may spend 10k gold a turn on troops but you should hopefully make 3 or 4 times that back from bandits pillaging gold.

For instance on one of my saves (oh that was another thing, it crashed for me a few versions ago when loading saves)  I got 500 bandits hanging around.

Minor bandits pillage 94 gold

Bandits pillage all 254350 gold from the rebels this season.

^ THAT is why I like bandits hehe, that and I use them as cannon fodder. I just free the slaves and use the bandits in their place smile Works for me, I get a public opinion boost, and get to have my little pet army to get a nice stream of income.

Yeah the custom game thing was something I thought of for a while but didn't know how to put into words. I mean, obviously you've got the main game a the moment but I would love to see the custom game idea we're on about come into effect, of course it'd pull from those races troop trees. Plus, I'm always down for playing as golems or elves or...in one memorable instance, chickens. I'm telling you, I ran across a chicken independent nation and was so annoyed I couldn't ally with them. It'd solve my kingdom's food populations forever right...?

I just hire mercenaries based on how good they are...and I really....REALLY hate Old Kroll, he's kind of useless honestly, I usually ditch him as soon as I got a bit of gold stored up, and hire the best.

I ran into a volunteer last night when starting a save after I lost all my lands, he cost 0 to recruit and had 285 skill. Is that just the luck of who gets sent to me, or is that just the fact he's always meant to be a loyal subject?

Lastly....for those of you who watch GoT, I go full Jauffre. I.e. kill anyne I don't like, invade lands for the hell of it....actually, if anyone would ever doa GoT mod, I'll happily playtest it big_smile

agreed 100 percent with the custom game idea.
havent posted any response due to being busy lately. but am loving the game so far, also, love the debug codes lol.

wanted to report a bug that after killing the gibbering monk, if you select its option, the game goes to an unreturnable page and cant get out of it.
p.s. love the game and I really wish that you would  complete the codes for yet unfinished lands. also please add prospection for other mines as well.

So yeah....the goblin kingdoms keep stealing my goblins and taking my fights.

Okay two ideas I had while half paying attention and playing Crusader Kings II....which is where most of my ideas for this game are coming from....

1. Bandits currently capture gold, right? Could they maybe be set to capture men as well, be it citizens, or troops, as well?

2. More uses for the spymaster. To draw a comparison with CK2...one of my all time favorite games for the sheer amount of underhanded stuff.....

Could the spymaster arrange unfortunate accidents for people if you get my drift.I was wonering if the spymaster could do more than just spy on people, I have this vague idea for WarSim bouncing around in my head that maybe your spymaster could 'accidentally' (if you get my drift) wipe out spaces in your retinue, be it by flat out having them killed, or as a crazy, out there sort of idea, say...spreading false info like they are working with the rebels so they get captured and/or executed or something like that.

Obviously, a spymaser's skill would affect how good they are at it just like the diplomat, it'd be unlocked at a certain skill and for obvious reasons wouldn't be an instant succcess, course you'd need to pay for it but just think of the possibilities to assassinate somebody you can't/don't want to fire. Or, just get rid of the starting general without firing him.

Or, for instance, arrange for a minor faction leader to be wiped out and a successor to be installed in their place....or...ya know, the possibilities are endless.

3. Last idea, would it be possible at all to maybe have a mode where you play as the rebels? Just an interesting thought I had last night while playing, maybe it could tie into the custom game idea I said up there somewhere.. I was always wondering how  the rebels would play out.
