EDIT:

It seems like PC version is 1 to 1 mobile port with all spoken messages like swipe left / righ to do stuff. It is not accessible as you can't use keyboard or controller to do the actions.
Close your eyes, and see.
Project Dark is a narrative-driven, immersive audio game that draws on the classic “choose your own adventure” genre to create a unique and compelling interactive experience. The game’s impactful choices and its sophisticated binaural audio allow players to become so immersed in the experience that they can play with their eyes closed.

Players will enjoy Project Dark for its rich and vibrant worlds that examine the breadth and depth of darkness. Simple mechanics make this a game that can be played by anyone, and we look forward to seeing where this exploration of darkness takes you!
Episodic Content
Play six episodes in settings ranging from a medieval fantasy adventure to a blind first date in this first anthology. In Project Dark, you’ll meet characters, learn their stories, and make impactful decisions for them all with the swipe of a finger.

I've tested the game on IOS and it is fully accessible so it should be the same on PC.

didn't you just say that it's not accessible on PC? and then you later just said that since it's accessible on ios so it is also accessible on pc?

if you buy a king sized bed, you're left with more bed room, but less bedroom!

In the original post, he said he thought it would be accessible on pc since it is on ios. He then edited the post to say it is not accessible on pc.
On another note, is anyone else getting tired of the audio adventure games? It’s just getting old for me, I’m tired of just linear stories. To be fair, I’m sick today so am probably being more harsh than usual.

Hi.
Awesome. Going to check it out.

so I cannot play the PC version of this game?
I'm now playing the game on my iPhone.
how is the game not accessible with a keyboard? I use a keyboard all the time.

2023-04-16 21:25:33

@3, there does seem to be a high number of such games, but these are easy to play, so probably have the widest appeal. For me, I think the choice of games stuff is over saturated and has recycled mechanics, so its not fun anymore, but people keep making and buying them, so they must be appealing to someone. Maybe it is the same with this one. I would try it myself if it was on android; I'm just not a fan of the episodic thing.

2023-04-16 21:57:41

Yeah, I'm sort of done with this genre as a whole at least for now.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

@3, 6: These are easier to make. A linear story is just one story. Add some branches to it that don't actually change anything, and you introduce the illusion of choice, but really you don't have any choice. The more choice you add to the game, the harder it gets to develop. The cost of assets grows, and the time investment required grows exponentially.

2023-04-16 23:54:42

Yeah, I can definitely see why some people might be tired of these types of games. We have loads of them, usually they all play extremely similar to One another, and there usually is hardly any challenge or depth to them. I personally don’t mind games like this, as long as the sound design is good and the story is engaging, but I definitely would prefer audio games with much more complex mechanics and engaging gameplay.
Getting back on topic, this game sounds really interesting. I just launched it, and the binaural audio sounds pretty good, the main menu music is pretty atmospheric and a bit creepy, and all of the episodes sound extremely different from one another. I am definitely going to give this one a shot. Hopefully, choices are actually impactful and can drastically change the story.

2023-04-17 02:47:14

So, how do you buy all the episodes at once? The menus are needlessly complex lol.

2023-04-17 02:56:17

@KenshiraTheTrinity: Lol agreed. That’s my only complaint with the game so far. And honestly, I’m not really sure. I got the pop-up for it one time, when I selected an episode in the episode store and clicked on the left side of the screen, but I’m not exactly sure how I made the option pop up.

2023-04-17 04:04:50

I did the tutoreal, but I'm not sure if I want to buy all of them.

Hmm, I do like choice based games, and some of do have really well thought out branches. I'm a huge fan of both choose your story.com and also chocie of games/hosted games, even if choice of games typically have less branches, but your choices still matter. I like the stories behind the games.

You know, it's like 3 bucks a pop, but 9 bucks if you buy all 6 episodes  all at once, and I had just enough Google play credits and play points to make the purchase, so I did. I played through the tutorial, and there was some targetting in addition to the choices, so I am hopeful for the variety in gameplay, even if its just a little. Plus I got a huge boost in play points too, which brings me closer to keeping gold membership next year. This game was just the excuse I needed to make use of those buffs and the credits burning a hole in my digital wallet, so I'm pretty happy over all. I will try some of these tomorrow.

Holy fuckin shit, this is crazy.
This is way better than what we normally get, and it also appears to be a lot longer than what we're used to as well.
Also, if you want a strong start, play the episode called the game of 3 first.

Hopefully, we'll get a fully accessible open world game someday.

2023-04-17 11:10:35

#1 Can you also add a link to the play store? Someone might think the game is not accessible for android which is not the case. Here's the link:

Only the tutorial can be played. You have to buy the rest.

2023-04-18 04:42:04

Yeah, this is fantastic so far. I’ve played through the tutorial, and I just beat the cave of spirits, but unfortunately got the bad ending, since I thought I’d be funny and just make dumb choices. I’m not really sure why I didn’t consider that there would be consequences to that, but oh well. Lol. I won’t spoil what it is, but I will say that the sound design in that episode is fantastic and creepy as hell. Looking forward to trying more episodes soon.

How much are the episodes? I wish you could buy them all at once or something like a season pass.

They are 3 bucks a piece, but you can buy them all for under 10 dollars. Thats 6 episodes for the price of 3.

I agree about the cave of spirits sound design, some of it was pretty creepy. In general the audio was really good and I felt kind i had a companion beside me the whole time. Looking forward to playing more of this.

2023-04-19 02:32:56

Yeah, I find the IOS interface incredibly clunky. I can activate what I'm going for about half the time, and can't for the life of me even find a way to buy the season pass. hard pass from me unless they update the interface
