Hi.

Not been back to the game for a while, but I'm liking the more nuanced sex and undressing descriptions, definitely contributes to the eroticism of the scenes.

I've not yet seen options for removing top and bottom garments separately, though I assume they're there if you make love to a follower in the appropriate clothes.

One thing you might consider, might be some slower, foreplay type caressing options during the undressing.
Firstly, massaging a follower's bare feet after foot ware is removed, and secondly, massaging a follower's intermit regions while she's still wearing bra and panties, since often (especially when the garments are of light material), this can enhance touch sensations.

I'll also look forward to seeing more outfits in the game, since while the leather breastplates are great for paladins, there's definitely scope for more outfits for your other followers, everything from sun dresses and bikinis, to saris and togas.

Fyi, one very nice Indian lady I knew once told me that diaphonous though they look, saries are actually pretty sturdy, and there are Indian women who wear them while doing outdoor work.

I am liking the coaching bonuses, though I hope the personality changes to coaching I mentioned in post 139 could be added for variety, since again, it seems odd to train a naive follower to the point she becomes an expert seductress, and yet she's still! naïve big_smile.

Likewise, I would love to see more options for caretaker positions in the game, indeed maybe the ability to assign different rolls of followers to the farm or missionary outpost as I mentioned in post 121, with courtisans as missionaries, caretakers as farmers, and paladins assigned as defenders to prevent bad events happening to your farmers or missionaries.


You could also consider having the ability to assign your matron of war or temple matron to coach a trainee in combat or courtship in addition to your own coaching, though obviously she wouldn't have as much time to devote to her other charges, thus halving the bonuses she usually gives.
That way you could coach more than one trainee at a time.

The family stories are interesting in terms of what they add to the mythos, but to me it feels a little weird to assign my aunt to  an erotic position, and it'd feel even weirder with my mother, which is another reason I'd like to see more options for different rolls either in the citadel, or with followers who've been dismissed.

Not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice if the followers filecards could list anything affecting their performance, EG less than optimal outfits, lack of muscles for a paladin, or less than perfect facial features for a courtesan, since often when I've got a lot of followers in an end of week report, it's difficult to remember who needs attention for what.

Btw, as a miner point, it seems odd that followers will thank you for changing their facial beauty, but not for reducing their age, since I'd imagine a follower in her fifties or sixties would be astounded to find herself 40 years younger.

Perhaps, if you reduce the age of any follower over 40, there should be a similar scene of thanks, with even larger thanks if the follower is over 60.

Lastly, I did have one miner thought for the game.
It would be great if there were some major long term goals to work towards, firstly in terms of amounts of silver (right now I have nearly 25000 of it, and it's likely to increase), and in terms of training followers.

so how about adding another long term resource to the game, divine reputation, IE how respected you are as god of time.

You earn one point of reputation for a follower's devotion hitting unquestioning, one point for a follower's love hitting max, one point for a follower becoming your wife, and a point for every level of skill mastery they attain after specialist, not to mention points for repelling anvil attacks and recruiting celestials or noted historical figures.

This means that there would be a need for you to go on rescuing and training followers, and a long term resource to earn in the game.
Divine reputation could be used to buy some really special upgrades, EG weather control for your citadel, ability to terraform the planet around you, , turning the farm and missionary outpost into full on colonies (I still like the idea of you providing husbands for your followers), or buying some extremely awesome and godly upgrades for your citadel which generate more energy and silver.

This would make for a much longer game, and one which encouraged players to go on rescuing and working with followers in order to earn those upgrades, since personally, fun as playing around with my bevy of beautiful maidens is, I always love games where I need to actually work, and be patient in order to achieve a realy long term goal.

Just some thoughts.

How about varying the descriptions of the top level of facial attractiveness, just so that courtesans have alternative ways of being described.

You could tie these to the secondary facial adjectives.

E.G: stern equals striking.
Jovial equals delightful.
austere  equals queenly.
Elegant equals noble.
Strong equals hansom.
Delicate equals elfin.
Sombre equals demure.
Cheerful equals sunny.
sultry equals alluring.
Cute equals lovely.
Mature equals motherly.
innocent equals sweet.
Sharply defined equals arresting.
Rounded equals youthful.
Weathered equals fascinating.
refined equals sophisticated.

Btw, I like words, I also enjoy physical descriptions.
Indeed, it amazes me how one physical aspect can be attractive when described one way, then ugly when described another way, for example "fat", is negative, while "plump" (especially for women), is usually positive (for men, stocky tends to be positive, where as it's negative for women).

Similarly an ugly person might be "bony", or "skinny", but a person who is "slim", or "thin", is attractive.
For women "slender, or "reedy"", is positive, while for men it's negative, though "lean", or "wiry", tends to be the other way around.

I pleased my wife by referring to her hair as "russet",  rather than just light brown :d.

I'm a big fan of words, too. Their origins, deeper meanings, and how those meanings can change over time, or, as you pointed out, depending on the context in which they're used. Language is a truly fascinating thing.

Interesting fact: If I meet someone for the first time and they've got a particularly interesting last name, I always quiz them on the etymology and cultural origins of that name. And, if they don't happen to know those things, I'll actually look them up afterward and find out. Then, later, I'll share the details I found with them. That's a quirk of mine that's led to some very interesting conversations.

Is there any way to use the old dialogs for screen reader detection? These new ones kind of play havoc with NVDA's focus tracking. Coaching is the biggest offender, with it flat-out refusing to let you move passed the dialog once you confirm a coaching option. The only fix there is to alt tab away, then back. NVDA's handling of other dialogs is weird, too, with the old hotkeys for cancel buttons etc not working quite right, and sometimes not at all. Purchasing outfits was a bit awkward, as was purchasing building upgrades.

Would it be ok if I get a little picky? In all the sex scenes where the player caresses or otherwise interacts with the "vagina", they're actually interacting with the woman's "vulva". A woman's vagina, strictly speaking, is the interior canal, the ejaculate express, semen street, erection avenue (I know, that's not an alliteration). If I'm manipulating the clitoris, labia, etc, I'm very much just checking the cap to the fuel tank and the hub caps. The vagina would be, erm, the engine? The fuel injector? The... catalytic converter? (maybe not that last one)

If you ask a girl to straddle you, it doesn't have any text -- I was confused until I realized they assumed the position without it saying anything.

Ending it on a positive note: I do love all the new variations and dialogs. I love that the reserved girls take more work, and the seductive girls are ready to hit the road running.

You're not wrong, but I think that's why most people just use more generic words like pussy, sex, [the ever controvertial cunt] ETC, because vulva sounds like something a gynecologist would say.

Thank you for the heads up about the issues with the new dialog boxes. I wasn't aware that they weren't always responding as they should under NVDA. I'll do some testing & see if I can smooth those issues out. Thanks for the other feedback also.

P.S. What are the default hotkeys you expect when using dialogs such as these? I can try to add them in.

No particular game engine. I built the game using the Python programming language (in the Notepad++ editor) & the Tkinter GUI library (plus the ttkbootstrap module on top of that to enhance visual customization options for the basic Tkinter widgets). None of that has TTS / accessibility options built into it, though, so I had to create custom modifications of the Tkinter GUI elements to produce the TTS results you find in the game.

As I've gone along though, I've been creating my own modest collection of tools to ease the development process, so in a way, I've been cobbling together my own "engine" of sorts.

@187, oh, wow, I didn't know you could do that with tkinter. I prefer libraries like toga myself (since it uses native controls), or an immediate-mode UI library that allows you to intercept events (keyboard focus and such) for that kind of thing. Still, that's pretty neat and keep up the really good work -- I'll stop derailing the topic! big_smile

I know that you asked Xvorden about hotkeys, but since they haven't responded yet I may as well take a crack at it if they don't mind.
Personally, I believe that either the escape key or backspace key for cancel/close/exit and Alt+Enter for okay would be great, with Alt+[first letter of button name] for anything else you can possibly think of. Manage, coach, room options, Buy, purchase, build, Gene options, Advanced gene options, ETC. And rarely would you come across a situation where two buttons in the same dialogue will have the same first letter for their name, but if that does happen, the usual response would be to use the second letter of the name for one of them instead.
