Hey, a public beta of this game is available at pcsgames.net. I have
yet to try it but I'm interested to see how it turns out - I was not
thrilled by the story.

downloaded the thing all right, but every time I tried to install it I kept
getting error messages about 1696.GSF files being unreadable. Source File is
corrupted. The hell am I supposed to do? It won't install.

just hope JK Rowling and the creators of Labyrinth don't find out or Phil
could be in serious trouble. Heck I'd love to create a Harry Potter audio
game, maybe even a series of them since their video incarnations are so
blind unfriendly, but in this age of lawsuits I wouldn't dare make the
attempt.

It's
very likely that making a game like this commercial must be okayed legally
first.
That said, until told otherwise I'll trust that a developer who's
making a sort of ripoff game in that vein will have had the common sense to
okay it first.

It seems like pcsgames is completely down. They have been down for weeks now. Maybe they are murging with BadGames Softworks or something? The shaned.net mirror is down as well!
Is there any other way to download this game? I want it soo bad!

I don't know what you are talking about. I just visited them and they're up. I've been able to visit them over the past few weeks too. I can't tell you about the download though since I got it months ago.
How could you consider their games bad if you can't download them? DOn't you mean they're hosted by BadServers ltd. (aka ultrahost 
).
