Hello everyone. I have a terrible problem with the iOS 15 beta on my iPhone 8+. My Voice-over doesn't work, if it does, it works real slow, practically making it unusable. Can anyone help me and suggest how I can fix this? Is anyone else having the same problem? Finally, if I were to reset the device completely, would I go back to 14?

I must have gotten very, very lucky then.
I have the iPhone XR and I updated with little to no issues at all.
That being said, the dev beta isn't designed for the public to evaluate or use. Even so, the public beta should be installed on a secondary phone if you're not experienced or aren't ready to deal with the bugs.
The dev beta is suppose to allow developers to transition to the new APIs, add new features for iOS 15 launch day and public beta should also be installed with caution because of course, it's a beta!

Yes you would. If you do a device restore on iTunes if on Windows or the finder on the Mac, you would go back to the last version of iOS that was signed by apple, which I believe is 14.6 at the time of this writing.
Make sure that you have a backup that was made while you're were on iOS 14, as backups that are created with an iOS version hiigher than the currently running version don't work.

I understand that, but will resetting it put it back on the latest publicly available software?

@ivan_soto I'm sorry I didn't see your response in regards to the reset before I posted my previous question. Just so you know, I was thinking of using the "erase all content and settings" feature of the device itself, would that work?

No, it would not. You have to downgrade using ITunes.

I see, will iTunes try to backup my phone before downgrading? Sorry for all these questions, I've never had to think about doing this before.

No, but you can do that during the setup process, provided you have an IOS 14 backup that can be used. As Ivan has already stated, IOS 15 backups won't work, at all.

If you didn't backup before installing the beta, you've made a mistake. However, if you have a recent ICloud backup on iOS 14, that mistake might not be so huge as you will be able to restore that.

Hey everyone, I was, after going to a technology shop here, finally able to get my device restored and it's working fine now.

Has screen recognition improved at all with this beta?

I've had issues with AudioDucking taking forever, maybe that's where your slowdowns came from. On my 11 pro, I just disabled it and my performance is fine. IMPO, screen recognition seems to have improved as well, but I'm a recent user of that feature, so I'm not 100%.

I wouldn't be able to help you with the beta, as when the device was restored, it went back to iOS 14.6. Those of you thinking about putting the developer beta on the 8+, don't do it at this point.
