EDIT 2021-03-12: the update to the demo has been released the 2021-03-04, here's a link to the topic in which the latest update is discussed now https://forum.audiogames.net/topic/3958 … omen-demo/
Anyway also the download link below of this topic in this post is updated and allows you to download the latest version of the demo

Hi!
I'm Giovanni Debidda (or Tenkarider), a new developer of Audiogames.it and HELL HUNTER - Anti-Nomen is the audiogame I'm working at, also, it's my first experience as a published game.
I just finished the demo and I'd like to share it here to gather some feedback from you guys and also some advice, in order
to improve the complete game.
HELL HUNTER - Anti-Nomen is a Horror RPG game, this is the story of Elyon, a vampire hunter, he's a dhampir hence the son of a vampire and a human, he hunted vampires and creatures for a long time, now he wants to succeed in his greatest hunt: Dracula, the lord of darkness.
The story is set in Transylvania, in our days: technology like smartphones already exist, to be precise, in this modern society creatures of the night exist and people is not aware of that, some of the creatures even live among humans, in disguise. Elyon hunts them far from the eyes of common humans and travels along darkest places during his personal mission.
You'll find yourself in many dangerous places and creepy situations, also you'll fight the creatures of the night in a real time battle system: there are many types of monsters, some are heavy and strong, others are fast, you can approach the enemies in different ways, brute force in many cases will be enough but some enemies will be defeated in a more efficient way by keep dodging their attacks. They also will behave in different ways and the strongest ones will even use their deadly attacks, which are powerful attacks among their normal ones, But a true hunter can recognize the type of monster from the information you get about them in the map and in battle, then, according to that, he chooses the best way to defeat them.
Don't be reckless while attacking, in many cases it won't be very effective and will be dangerous for you, fighting in a calm way will reward you: a hunter is patient and always knows when it's the right moment to act.

The demo for Windows (64 bit) and Mac is available now for free on the audiogames.it website:
https://www.audiogame.store/en/shop/hel … omen-demo/

The structure of the whole game is already defined and built, it will take some extra time to me in order to make the other music and sound effects, and then some extra programming to implement the other features of the game: the demo is far from showing everything, you can definitely expect new features in the complete version of HELL HUNTER - Anti-Nomen!
Still it's possible to change something on the way, for the sake of extra improvement... so I'd be glad to hear your opinion about anything: sounds, gimmicks, enemies, difficulty, or anything else! I'll try to answer to questions as fast as possible.

In any case thank you for your time and I hope you'll enjoy the game and its mood!

I have no confidence in this company after i purchased blind quest.. but, because blind quest was so near a book you can come. no sound efects only a person sound like he reading a book. how will this game looks like? are it only a person sounded like he reading a book?

2021-01-29 13:11:52

hello. I can't play games like this. I don't have the patience to listen to all this. everything is very slow. hope you will make the games better in the future.

2021-01-29 13:15:51

Hello @mjonsson1986 ! What i can tell you is that the story is one of the cores of this game, i pulled a lot of effort in the script, also there are a lot of sound effects and dynamic music through your journey. I loved some of the Lone Wolf gamebooks and, among many other references, i tried to make my story flow in a similar way of that gamebook, i hope i managed to make it sound a bit like that. In any case the demo is free: i'd love if you might give it a chance, at least smile

2021-01-29 13:22:34

Hello @black_dog, i don't know if you already tried the demo but in any case i respect your opinion, if you didn't played it yet i'd be happy if you could give it a try

2021-01-29 13:33:53

hello. I would like to please you, but I can't, unfortunately. I understand that you have spent a lot of effort to create another game like blind quest. but this is not exactly what most players need. such games are already outdated. please forgive me for my revelation.

2021-01-29 13:39:32

This game is good. I m waiting for the ful version!

2021-01-29 13:46:35

@black_dog: oh, i see... well that's the genre i guess, even if i tried to add a lot of new features, but it's okay... have a nice day!

Hi @Robokop ! Thanks for trying the demo and i'm glad you like it!

2021-01-29 13:53:19

Hi,
I have played the demo, and actually it's fun.

I wonder though, would it be possible to add a way to speed up the narration a little bit?

Also, I don't need to hear the message about pressing tab all the time, could that only happen the first 4 moves or so?

Good job though, the sounds are excellent.

Well,, I'll try it for sure ever if I am tired of the same repeated mechanics: More listening, not that much of gameplay. As a gamer who is playing video games mostly I am used to something more dynamic, where gameplay is the core mechanic even, if the story could accompany during the gameplay. Games like Hades or The last of us showed me you can combine great storytelling with deep and fascinating gameplay.

Hello @chrisnorman7 ! Thanks for playing the demo, i'm glad you're enjoying it! You mean like making speak faster the voice? I'll see what i can do about that... about the pressing tab speech, actually i can easily remove it, if you think you don't need that: the instruction of the game already say how to move in the map, after all. Thanks about the sound as well, there has been a lot of effort in that...

2021-01-29 14:03:32

"11
Yeah sure, I guess it could be removed, if you've got a "Getting started" document somewhere.

Good job.

Hi @Lirin ! Thanks for wanting to give it a shot, to be precise both the story and gameplay are the core of this game... I tried to make them merge with some custom gimmick you'll find in the demo. In any case, please enjoy the demo!

Well, it appears the association has fixated themselves on emulating these point and click adventure type things. They just aren't my prefered genre though. Most of the time, it feels like reading a book and not like playing a game, with some bop it style combat dropped in for good measure. I'll probably find someone who will play and record it for the story's sake. I don't expect to be buying it though.

I used to be a knee like you, then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

It would be good if you added screenreading or SAPI 5 support, atleast for the menus and combat

If you want to contact me, do not use the forum PM. I respond once a year or two, when I need to write a PM myself. I apologize for the inconvenience.

is there a spasific engine or thing to create such games?
if people are creating those types of games so easyly , the only thing i can think of is a some sort of engine that lets you create these kinds of games
i dont know any game got released from that audio games what ever platform with a diffrent mechanic.

Hello!
So now we finally have a Dracula accessible audio adventure to play!
And if i understand things correctly, the original Dracula adventure for the sighted was point and click as well.
You guys have just taken another step forward, as allways.

blackdog, it sounds like its not your cup of tea. couldn't have you just told the dev that instead of unloading your huge dump on it? This kind of game may not work for you, but it does for others. everyone has their preferred style of games.  And you wonder why devs don't want to do anything worth while for the community.  Its not my cup of tea, but I'l give it a shot.

Their is no such thing as a master.  One is never done learning, and those who claim to be a master at something are far from becoming one!!

@2: At audiogame.it, games from different developers are published as far as I know. So it's worth looking at every game, except if it's from that certain developer.

Greetings and happy gaming, Julian

So, I've played the demo a bit. Here are my thoughts.

It seems like the story is the core of games of this type, so the fact that the story is interesting is a plus. Personally, this is a case where I would like to be able to use my screen reader for narration, but I don't know difficult that would be on the Mac platform, on which I'm playing. On Windows SAPI5 support could be implemented, though. I wish these games had voice acting for characters, to give a more cinematic feel. The narration is a bit improved over the Blind Quest games though. The sounds are also pretty good. I'm not a fan of the point and click style, and reactive combat has lost whatever appeal it had forblind players.  Still it's a promising demo, the kind of game you can play if you have few minutes free before work or between classes, etc.

At 18 if they wouldn't produce the same game again and again and if they wouldn't have the same problems over and over again, I would agree with you.
But it's always the same with those guys.

Greetings Moritz.

@omer, I think that most if not all games from them are in Unity

2021-01-29 18:23:03 (edited by Tenkarider 2021-01-29 18:30:23)

Hi @connor142 I tried to improve the original battle style rather than changing it into something else and added some extra features in order to increase the focus on battles. Even in case you won't going to buy the complete version, I'd be glad if you could give a shot to the free demo...

Hello @Nuno ! I already heard about those screenreaders etc, I guess I'll try to inform more about those things to see if it's possible to do something about that. I don't mind in doing that to battle and menu, about the story I think the voice of the dubber would be a plus for the sake of narration, besides I'd be afraid that some effects which triggers during the dialogues could end up to mismatch if the voice changes... then again I'll think more about that.

Hi there @Omer, actually yes, there's an engine used to make that kind of games: since newbie devs like me lack of experience, they need to stick out with a thing like that in order to make some experience, then they eventually do something new from scratch... who knows, maybe my next IP will be made from zero and could be more original... in any case I changed a lot of the original code of that engine to improve the structure and polishing the experience of the player, also I added a lot of unique features to fit the mood of this horror game.

Hi @Douglas1 ! I don't know about this Dracula point and click adventure but yeah, you'll definitely going to meet Dracula in this game.

Hello @Vulcan !  Thanks a lot for deciding to give a shot to my game, despite not being your cup of tea, I hope you'll manage to enjoy it the same!

Welcome @Juliantheaudiogamer ! I guess this is the case in which "don't judge a book by its cover" applies, any new developer of games always has the chance to offer something new at the community so, as far as the game it's free, why not try? Anyway the choice is always up to you, of course.

Hi @tayo.bethel ! As said before I'll try to inform about those tools, at least. Thanks a lot for playing the demo! Also thanks for your feed!

Hello @sightlessHorseman ! Unfortunately newbies of those games, like me, still have to gather some experience in making audiogames, and I guess that it will take some time... it's a matter of trust i think. I thought a lot about how to improve the original structure, so I hope you could try at least the free demo of this game, which is my first one, and give some feed about it. Thanks for sharing your opinion, in any case!
