any recommendations for anti virus or should I just stick with windows defender and malwarebites?
stick with windows defender and malware bites. I would only use windows defender any way because you don't need to bother with more updates to keep track of
i'd recommend you to stick with both, if you have the money, malware bites is worth it to be fair, 40 doller per year for one device wich is a grate price comparred to the features it offers, i'm not saying it is the best but that's what i'm thinking
WEll, what i found is that malware bites is not really good when it comes to real time protection. i just use win defender and nothing else, it is also that i don't go to any like shady websites or stuff.
Does windows defender do realtime updates?
Yep i think so, but i am not 100 percent sure though.
at post 28 i had never had any problems with malwarebytes before, , i've already got the updated one with all the the features activated, including web protection/ryeal time protection, if you had any such bad experiences with it please shair them here .
edit: i just remmebered before i downloaded once a zip file from the internet and it was infected, when i scanned it with malwarebytes nothing was ditected, but when i opened it it contained a tiger virus, basicly windows defender took an action against it, so i guess each of them has it's own fallts
Windows defender does update itself, if you have windows update turned on. But if you don't, you have to manually check for update through windows update.
Well, eset version 8.0.3, the thing I am using on my computer right now is quite accessible with object navigation, it's abit so even without, but I wouldn't recommend it, better use object navigation whenever you can with those AV programs, you never know what you miss otherwise, even with the most so believed accessible ones. The thing is that I still have defender activated, so everything eset misses, defender catches, so I can sleep quite noisily in my bed, lol.
I think I'm gonna get rid of Eset and just stick with defender and malwarebites.
I fell for it when the guy at micro center said that it works with screen readers. I just hope they gave me the ESet box with my pile of other boxes. I still can't get one of my steam games to work. the others work fine just not that one which is star wars knights of the old republic made by bioware. I'm not sure if its ESet or something else.
