It is explained in the readme. In all of the massive chaos of destruction, in the middle of all that chaos and craziness were consoles that were being dropped on the ground by accident by runaway balloons. You managed to obtain one of these abandoned consoles. The consoles were created solely for quick purchases, they weren't really technological, as you were the one making selections and manipulating its options.
