Hi!
The game will not be free, it's a monthly subscription for $3.99 US, though all expansions and content updates are included in this price, so no extra charges will be added.

Hi Cornelia.
Have you considered the following fact regarding the subscription compared to one-time purchase:
People will subscribe to play through the dungeon and maybe play through the other content as well. When they are finish, they will unsubscribe, and maybe come back when you release new content. If you don't make any new content for four months or so, then people will unsubscribe, and maybe subscribe again when there is something new to play.
If you do like EarPlay has done with CODENAME CYGNUS, then people pay for each new chapter instead. In this way, you will get money each time you release anything new if people are interested. With a monthly subscription, you will only get money, if people find it worth the trouble to keep subscribing each time you make something new. But if it's too difficult to unsubscribe and subscribe again when people are interested, then they'll skip it.
Just some thoughts and advice which I hope you'll consider.
Here is the link to EarPlay where you can check out what I'm talking about:

Best regards SLJ.

Hi!
As we will produce content monthly, both we and Amazon felt a subscription would be the better option. So people would not have to pay for every added content separately.

@Cornelia: Fair enough. That's up to you.
Here is another point: Let's say you work on this project for two years and release something each month. Then, new gamers subscribe and have access to everything you have worked on for two years for a very small amount of money. If you take two dollars for each release, then you'll end up getting more money from new gamers.
Also, if you stop releasing monthly content after two years, people who have been subscribed from the very beginning will unsubscribe because they won't get new content. But again, that's all up to you. I wish you the best of luck with the product, and I look forward to play some more, and hope my previous mentioned issue by understanding the command gets fixed.

Best regards SLJ.

Since we are launching the official version of The Cursed Painting tomorrow, no more content will be added to the Beta as of now. I am unsure if the extensions will be tested by using the Beta, but we'll let you know if that is the case!

Definitely looking forward to the full version. The atmosphere of the game had me hooked right from the get-go. And while I generally prefer human speech ala Starfinder, another game I can't wait to dive into, that icy synthe voice you used here does fit the mood quite well.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2020-04-09 08:12:13

Do anyone know how we can purchase the game when it is release?

2020-04-09 09:39:22

I'd imagine either there'll be a web site or you can do it right on your device the way you can with things like Song Quiz or Jeopardy.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

The full version will be embedded in the same skill as the demo and the Storyteller will ask if you'd like to purchase the game or just go with the demo.

That's what I figured. It makes sense. I'll probably wait till the first of next month before buying my copy simply because I like to have all or most of my subscriptions come out at about the same time.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Hi,
This release is for the full game! The beta has been taken offline now, after great feedback from our testers.

The beta included the whole Cursed Painting world, with the dungeon as well as the forest and town. We've now put the beta version offline as we launched the full game this morning.
