@125: There is no combo for kicking. Just for punching. I pointed that out in the changelog, at least I thought I did, correct me if I'm wrong.
As for Martial Mode, I'll have to see. The game only calls to one central function, and what I may have to do is create a string to check if martial mode is enabled, and if it is, you won't be able to use any weapons except Fists, Feet, Knife and Sword.
Also, @124, the ragetaker will actually be able to move on its own in 2.4, I coded the movement in this morning. What I'm hoping to do is indeed add more traps, but I first would like to start out with mines. I just need some good mine explosion sounds, and I think I know a perfect one in my sound collection somewhere that I'll have to sift through.
I've also made the ragetaker slightly faster than your moving speed, the ragetaker moves at 170ms and you move at 175ms. Why? Because hopefully what I'll try to do in the future, is add some taunts that should hopefully, well, get you raging!
Let me know what you guys think.

Sorry for double posting, but, I just thought of a taser. So that if the ragetaker keeps dashing around, you can tase it and it significantly slows movement.

Why a string?  Use a bool.

Galaxy stranger:
A spherical, black coloured ship descends to the surface. A small baby moose wanders up to it. As the moosling is about 10 meters, a red laser shoots out of the ship, punching a hole in the center of the moose. We hear a squeak and a thump as our view fades to black.

A string. Because I can set it independently of all other modes. Plus, to be honest, I am not fully equipped in using bools. [smile]

question, why the hell this file is so big?

2020-02-04 03:03:45

The higher the quality, the bigger the file size.
Also, 2.4 is out, but I  removed some ambiences to make it 20MB smaller, because the other ones were each 17MB.

@114
it was fun to see you completely reverse the conditions and making the ragetaker fly out of range on an extremely hard kick big_smile big_smile

Abay chal.

no offence but, sorry no, that wont apply for this one

2020-02-04 11:01:25

I wasn't sure I was going to like the ragetaker moving about at first. That is until I found out that you can place a mine, kick him back ten tiles, run so he follows you and hits the mine, kick him back again, and repeat. That is pretty dang awesome.

2020-02-04 11:06:00

it's wery wery beeg file!

2020-02-04 11:24:14

Ok I actually really like this now! But how do I do the combo punch?

2020-02-04 13:23:45

I keep on playing it just to get that thing where you walk, press enter every step and just go bom! On every single step. It's so much fun! You know, where the ragetaker is right behind you and you just place and detonate a mine every step. So gooooooooooooood! I can't wait for those taunts you speak of, that'll be fun! Alo just saying, taser is, bugged.

Actually, it will work. I'm telling you that the sounds are the only reason for how big the game is. Plus, we already know that some people are likely going to complain if sounds are too low quality, because that's our blind community these days. No offense, but I feel like you are repeatedly tossing little tiny bits of criticism here and there, and I've dealt with it in a peaceful manner all this time, but you're really starting to crank it up.

Sorry for late post, but would like to just say that 2.4.1 has been released due to a bug I discovered this morning. It is an optional update, and you don't have to update unless you want the bug to be fixed.
Basically, if you are still running 2.4, try going less than ten tiles from the edge of the grid on the right side, and toss the ragetaker. You'll notice that instead of rebounding to 100, it flew over your head back to the original grid edge, 50. This is what 2.4.1 fixes.

quality sound doesnt matter with the size
i can make a game with this one with less then 20 mb of size
what ever your using, try changing it, wav, change it to ogg, long files, shorten them, its good for your players, just saying
and if you cant handle crititism, well, no comment for you, good luck you in the feuture

2020-02-04 20:53:50

Thanks for the luck, I'll need it. smile

Also, let me point out right now that you've been the only one who has complained about file size. Yet, look at the other games out there. They're over 100MB, and no one's complaining. So, I don't really see a problem with the size as of now, but I'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration.

404

2020-02-05 22:21:10 (edited by kruf 2020-02-05 22:37:55)

Personally, I prefer a game with a big size and a good sound design than a very small game with crappy sounds, Or sounds looks like that have bad compression like 128 or less
For 404, after clicking on the link, delete the dot at the end of the address in your browser address bar or copy the link to your clipboard, paste it into your address bar and delete the period at the end of the line.

I usualy speak french, so please excuse all my english mistakes. Thanks!

2020-02-06 03:23:35

Thanks kruf, I forgot to say that, if you are experiencing link issues, remove the period.

I just editf the post and removed the period to prevent future 404 errors. Hope this helps.
Also, I'd like to improve Custom Mode to suit everyone's satisfaction. Currently, the Custom mode only allows you to adjust the ragetaker's health and the game's grid size. But, how about adjusting other things, such as weapons to bring along, perhaps maybe an ally to shoot the ragetaker for you, maybe even select a ragetaker to rage on for those who'd rather rag on an object, such as a window, fridge, door, etc.
Let me know.

Version 2.6 is out with decreased file size, some modifications to Custom mode layout, and a new weapon, as well as the return of in-game music with added volume support.
