Yay, my two packs got added. They're "eschatos" and "sonic_advance_2001". I have not much experience in creating packs (as well as audio editing) so these packs were my first attempts.

I'd like to point a little fix. If you download "sonic_advance_2001" pack, please edit the last bpm.txt MS entry, which is 870. Change it to 862, or 861. The Sonic Advance series do not have the music 100% quantized, so I tried to sync them as much as I could.

The eschatos pack also has some sync problems, but tthey were my fault. I can provide a well-synced bpm.txt for eschatos if someone is having problems with that pack. Until someone points that, I'm going to upload the bpm.txt file.

hi
yeah, well you need to loop correctly when you create the packs. Anyway there are many packs in beatstar that aren't fully synced. Until I get a proper review team or something... yeah.

Loops are not a problem for me, I can find loop points that matches the original music (at least in videogame music). But things goes tricky when you put a song (i.e. a popular song, for example) in the pack, that has no loop, just ends; you must decide what section will be looped to sound correctly. All the musics loops fine in my two packs. Heck, that's the first thing I do before anything, find proper loop points.

I was considering a new way of playing beatstar which would automatically reorder packs from longer to shorter cycle time, but it might break some packs with a quote unquote storyline.
It would be interesting, most definitely.

How would be that system? Sounds interesting.

@103, what would you want from a review team? I'm asking because I am willing to start going through packs and creating clips of me playing all of them. It will, obviously take time, probably several months, but still.
Is that what you want, or am I misunderstanding you here?

I changed my mind about the fixed bpm.txt for eschatos. Download right here. Press the application key (or shift+f10) over the link and click in save link as...
Rename the file to bpm.txt and put it into the eschatos folder. If the link has stopped working, let me know.

@107 no, not recordings of you playing all packs.
I simply need people to tell me if a pack is completely off or wrong or badly synced, maybe I can add a function in the game like report current pack and it would ask for a reason etc. Maybe the game could give you a refund. like, I don't want to play this pack anymore, report for x reason, delete the pack and refund beatcoins.

Ah. Lol, if somebody is going to do it I have a feeling that a lot of packs like Face the Music would be removed. I remember it being really bad in some places, i.e, you couldn't even use the song as a guide for your timing. My question is, what if that was somebody's intention? I know some packs do this on purpose to try and screw you over.

2019-12-10 21:49:54

well if people are doing that on purpose... well
I can always put something in place so that pack cycles can't be shorter  than x
like 500, 400, idk.

Hey, if i upload a pack, will i have to wait for the next update for them to be seen?

2019-12-10 22:36:57

Hi, I went to download the newest version of beatstar, but it seems to have diapeared frome the web sight? Am Is this normal?

2019-12-11 01:18:48

Hi I downloaded the latest version, but I still can´t access the game. It still says to turn off my screen reader´s cursor. I have no idea how to do this.

2019-12-11 07:46:56

hi beatstar should be on the web. I put it down for some time but its back.

You don't need to disable your sceren reader cursor anymore. just select your language with the arrows and enter when you first launch the game and hear the intro.

As for packs. Yes, there is a manual review process for each pack upload, so that people can't just post random shit.

lol I completed a pack but... when I completed it, the game didn't give me beatcoins. I completed it once again just to make sure, it gave me the beatcoins, but... after that, my 3 million and something of beatcoins magically disappeared! And now, I only have the beatcoins I got from the pack I won. lol
Unfortunately I even don't know if the console output gave me anything.
The weirdest bug ever. Before this happen, I remember downloading the default pack because I removed it by accident, and completed it. After of that, I downloaded the smackme_spanish pack to have some fun, and that's all I did IIRC. Well at least no other thing was lost. What could have happened...? Looks like the amount of beatcoints was restarted for x reason.

I finally got the game to work. The problem I was having was that my screen reader I was using didn´t read any text on the game. When I turned it off and used the built in screen reader, the game worked just fine. I´ve noticed something, when I try to buy packs, it says that there are no packs available. Why is this? I have v 9.1.1.

2019-12-11 19:35:53

@119, To buy packs, you have to download them first.
So I played the game today and at the starting of a level, I saved it and got 6000 coins. When I continued the same game, after some beats, I recieved some more coins and the game went to the main menu. The weird thing was that the beats were still continuing to play only the background music was of the main menu. Did anyone else too have this problem?

Hi, I'm here again! lol

I've been having errors when playing packs. After completing at least two levels and the audio file "nlevel.ogg" plays for a second time (or more, as you go playing the pack) the console (even NVDA itself) begins to speak the errors, here are them.

Error: Failed to execute 'createMediaElementSource' on 'AudioContext': HTMLMediaElement already connected previously to a different MediaElementSourceNode.

Whether you quit or win the pack, the following happens:

Sorry for annoy you with these reported bugs lol.

I have encountered the same error messages when I finish a level in a pack. It often happens between levels or when I clear a pack. ALso, I have a question. How do you unlock the last few levels in the default pack? I have unlocked 7 levels so far.

2019-12-12 18:22:41

Uh, how do you unlock levels? The same way you unlocked the first 7? I feel like this is some poor attempt at a joke.

2019-12-12 22:53:00

Hello guys,

just a couple questions.

1. I haven't gotten past the default pack but I got to the point where you had like a quarter or a sixth of a second to buzz in and I was really far. Anyone know of any good soundpacks to try?
2. last one I played was 7.5, does the new update still support JAWS?
3. any soundpacks to avoid or do besides the default. the Ukilele one I have trouble differentiating the sounds and the lullabies 2 one (which was very different than I thought) starts at a crazy-fast speed. I like soundpacks where the sounds are relatively differentiated and they aren't machine-gun speed early on. I was thinking about the Zelda 2 or the Yoshi Cookie ones, or perhaps a couple others. because I'm a big classic Nintendo game fan.

There are a few SNES packs in there AFAIK. But IIRC some of them are not well-synced.
