Hello folks! I discovered a new browser based rpg and the head developer is very open to bring more players to the game and to add accessibility to the mechanics. For now you can explore, find items and various creatures and solve a series of tutorial quests. The game has background sounds like music and soundscapes like storms, campfire, etc.
Navigating through the game's page is a little bit tricky, but it is doable. The game is undergoing some heavy changes like adding skils and more quests, and that may be the right time for us to jump aboard and discuss ways to make it more friendly for blind players. I will post my referral link below:

Sounds cool.

I remember playing this and reaching out to the dev for something access wise. He responded very quickly and was open to fixing whatever was wrong. A fun game, more so if they're adding things.

I hope the dev makes an account.  Browsergame devs seem to be the most willing to go the extra mile for us for what ever reason.  Maybe point them to Greensattilite on the Trimpts topic for ideas, and tell them about NVDA.

Don't forget JAWS in there.

Does anyone know how to check the stats of an item? I can't seem to find them.

Also I'm wondering if it is possible to use the real money credit system to escape death.

Hello folks. When you make a donation of $5 or greater, your account is updated to premium status. It allows you to be rescued when you fall in combat and to store stuff at your house if you need to make some backup plan.
The dev is updating things so you could mouseover an item to get it's stats. I can't make it work 100% of the time, but maybe it's me. BTW I'm using NVDA, any tips on using this feature more effectively is appreciated. Currently I'm using the numeric keyboard stuff to try to drag the mouse cursor to an item's name.
Best regards, Haramir.

Sounds cool, I'll give it a try later.

The reason devs of browser-based games might be more willing to work with the blind community might simply be what I call "what is general knowledge syndrome" i.e. it's general knowledge that us blind individuals can and do browse the web, but not quite as well know that we can and do play videogames. Plus, accessibility rules for the web are firmly established, whereas those for games are just getting off the ground. The average videogame developer is probably not even aware that blind people try to play their games, and react with skepticism when they hear of such a thing ... I came across something from a few years back where the blind person asking for help with a videogame was actually considered to be some kind of scammer.

already some of the stats and stuff for items are becoming visible, just keep talking to the guy, he finds making the changes a thing that doesn't take too long.

Hi,
The initium dev should be on the forum now, I've unrestricted him and even put a link to this topic.

I got the app off of the play store and the only real problem I'm having is finding a description of the area or what I'm doing.

Hey everyone. I'm the developer for Initium. Thanks for trying the game and I'll do my best to make it more accessible. The most recent suggestion was to add more notification sound effects for when operations complete, it's a great idea for sighted players as well!

Well our dev room has a stickied post at the top full of high quality free sound resources, so that should help.  noiseforfun.com, and soundimage.org (the UI_Quirky series in the SFX UI section and the synth chimes in the SFX Alerts section) as well as the mainstays like opengameart.org and freesound.;org are always useful too.
I have some specific links for you to check out if you'd like that are good for UI sounds, as well, just stuff I've come across.

InitiumDev, thank you to support accessibility on your game. I signed up and gave $5 yesterday (pseudo Topaze), because i think there is potential in this mud.

How can I get to my inventory to equip my stuff?

Edit: Figured it out. Now I am actually having a problem buying equipment as the option to confirm or cancel appears but it's all merged into one message and I can't seem to choose either or. Also is there a way to get immediate actions to appear on screen soon as they happen rather than having to consult my event history? Btw I am using the android app.

Hello.

Can I delete my account from this game? I tried it and the accessibility isn't enough so that I can play it.

If not, please make this an option in the future. I like to be able to delete my account if I sign up to a thing.

I'm gone for real :)

It's almost enough for me, but I can't buy stuff and my character seems to be stuck in the city and trying to go anywhere causes an error. I even tried relogging and no luck. Anyone else have this happen?
