Hello guys, I have a problem and I would like some suggestions.
The problem is I am trying to read using OCR, when I stream Xbox to the PC there is a lot of interruptions.  Note: my net is not that good.  I heard about the capture card, will it help with that?

I’m having trouble doing OCR with the XBox. I go to connect and tab to stream. After I press test stream or stream I do the OCR command with NVDA and it doesn’t read the mortal kombat x screen.

Hi.
@flameAlchemist: Don't choose test stream, but just the stream button. Then you should get a message saying you have no controller connected, because only if it's true. Tab to continue and click this message box away.
Then, press windows d to go to the desktop, and alt tab back to the Xbox app. Then you should be able to do the OCR.

Best regards SLJ.

No. If you do, you might get focus on the quality buttons, which might brake the OCR.

Are the quality buttons important?

That depends of the OCR result.

I was just thinking, could my internet be why I'm not getting OCR to work? it sometimes will disconnect me from team talk.

No, because you are streaming locally, not over the internet. That is, of course, if your computer and console is on the same network.
1. Are you running Windows in a virtual machine?
2. Does NVDA just say no results?
3. Do you remember to click the message away saying no controller is connected?

Best regards SLJ.

nope its a actual windows computer.
2. Does NVDA just say no results?
Yep.
3. Do you remember to click the message away saying no controller is connected?
if its the button that says continue then yep I pressed that.

Would it be easier if I were to start a party with you? then it might be easier to help me by voice.

Hi.
Nah, I won't be able to help better by voice I think.
My last idea is that your screen resolution might be the issue. Try to adjust it to see if it works with one of the settings.

do you have any ideas what I should adjust my screen resolution to? its currently set to its recommended settings  which is 1600 × 900.

No clue. It is different depending on your graphic card. So your only option is to go through them all to see if any of them lets you do the OCR.

I might leave the quality at high and see what the screen resolution does when I go through them. What is screen resolution anyway?

Screen resolution means how many pixels on the screen. It is the details of the pictures, combined with the size. It's kind of difficult to explain, but I hope it makes sense.

Do you have screen curtain turned on? if so, turn it off and try again.

2019-04-10 14:26:12

I did have screen curtain on. What does it being on have to do with OCR?

Thumbs up

2019-04-10 20:15:59

Well, if the screen is turned off, then the optical character recognition will not work, simply because the screen is blank.
OCR means it is running a recognition of the actual picture on the screen, and transcribe it into readable text. Therefore, if you turn off the screen, there is simply no picture to recognise.
Just to clarify: Have you got the OCR to work? big_smile

I think I’ll try turning my screen on. I’ll try it later today and see what happens. Although when I had my screen off OCR was able to read the quality button.

Amazing. I didn't thought about that since my screen is always turned on. big_smile
