Hi guys. I wanted to enter on my university's platform today and to my surprise they've added a captcha system. It is an older captcha I presume since it has no audio version. What software are you guys using to read captcha these days? I have tried to use an old esr version of firefox with webvisum but it seems to always autoupdate after I install it. Is there any addon for chrome that can do the same thing?
Any help would be appreciated.

There's some kind of addon for firefox called Captcha be-gone, but I don't know where it is or if it's still being supported. Sorry. Maybe you can bring something up by googling it

No, Captcha Be Gone has been abandoned. The trick to getting the older ESR version of Firefox not to auto update is to use a portable version. It will nag you every now and again as to whether you want to install updates, but there's a clearly labeled ask later button, which has worked for me. I'm pretty sure you can turn off updates in the settings as well, but I don't use that particular version enough to make it necessary in my situation.

The situation is getting better since Recaptcha introduced "I'm not a robot" with alternative audio option, but when I have to, I use ESR + Webvisum. If Webvisum is down, the end.

Okay, I am going to try to find a portable ESR version. Which one is better? Do all of them support web visum?

You want version 52, the same one you were using. That's the most modern version which will support Web Visum.

I managed to download the portable version and everything works as expected. I wonder, is there any way of contacting the devs of webvisum to ask them about updating their software and signing it with the latest firefox?

What about Rumola or how ever you spell it? Does that still work.

I believe that rumola still works. I've been using it with chrome.
Best regards.

Possibly a dumb question, lol but how does one download version 52 of Firefox ESR? I can't seem to find it on their site... all it'll give me is version 60. And there's nowhere I can go that I can see for old versions.
Thanks.

Yeah, it's not on Mozilla's site. You can get it from https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/ … -legacy-52

yeah, that's the version I was able to find aswell and it works perfectly with webvisum. Lets hope it stays this way for a long time.

It's interesting that Rumola is still working for some people. It quit working for me a couple months ago, then I heard it had been pulled from the Chrome and Firefox add-on repositories.

It might be worth saying that if the issue is with a university you should definitely speak to them in non-too-friendly terms. They'll have obligations to provide accessible services.

Couldn't find Rumola on chrome web store.

Why is the team at Webvisum didn't respond to any email? have tried contacting them for ages to request for update but not successful.
