Jan 16 2019 update: New helicopter and UI sounds, removed some of the shittier gun SFX, added a handful of weapons sounds in all categories, organized folder a bit better, and converted all WAVS to FLACS, resulting in a much smaller download. The file has also now been moved to the NVGT website with the help of Carter.
So I was sending this to someone anyway, and since unlike Dropbox, sync.com doesn't have unreasonable traffic limits I figured why not share it with everyone.
This contains modern war sounds, firearms, from pistols to heavy machine guns, explosions, jet fighters, helicopters, air raid sirens, marching soldiers ETC along with Mideval sounds including swords and knives, both draws and clangs, armor hits, some bow sounds, general battle ambience and the like... And also some futuristic warfare like laser, plasma, and electric weapons, alarms, and energy fields.
Then their are footsteps, gore, UI elements, and a various sounds folder that includes some more unique ambience I've come across, along with some police stuff, more contemporary alarms, crowd noises/reactions, and some cinematic FX.
I'll probably be improving it over time, needs more armored vehicles, high speed cars, horses, ambience and such, but I'll post it when that happens.
It won't all be useful to a game developer but most of it should be... And since it's all legal and completely free I figured it'd be appreciated no matter what.
Some sounds are only useful in specific applications, like at a distance or indoors, and many will need some trimming or volume adjustment. A handful of them only have a couple useful parts and the rest is just chaff. But that said, the quality ranges from decent to excellent for 90% of it, and some are professional quality.
Always remember to put the author's name in your projects for each sound or group of sounds made by them. A link to their page on freesound is even better...
It's easy to find their page, you just take the username from the filename or pack name. for instance 386842__nioczkus__m1-garand-rifle.aiff and add freesound.org/people/ to it.
So then it becomes http://www.freesound.org/people/nioczkus
Technically, your also supposed to put a link to the license type in your credits as well, but Freesound doesn't make that easy outside of packs because it doesn't say which license the sound is using in the filename.
But, if you want to just cover everything easily, simply put these links in your credits when using anything from freesound. That way any sound you have is going to fall into one of those categories anyway...

Watch out for those last two if your making a project where money is coming in in any way (including donations unless you are a registered non profit) You'll need to look up each sound to make sure your allowed to use it. Chances are very good that you are but it's just to cover your ass. Thankfully as mentioned before, soundpacks have the license type shown for all sounds contained and that makes it allot easier to find that info.
