The developer of silversword is no longer adding accessibility features with the next update due to technical issues in the games code.

What a lame excuse.

Hi,
To be honest, as much as I would have loved seeing accessibility changes and updates to the silversword game that made it more playable, The developers point sounds fare enough. if he weren't willing to add access for Voiceover users, he wouldn't have added the changes and accessibility as shoddy as it is in the game at all over the years. The fact that he has worked on it, and now has come to the conclusion that adding access to the game would involve a major rehaul which obviously as he said he isn't willing to do. I see nothing laim about that, sad yes, but not laim or lacking common sense.
JMO, of course.

Hi.
Sad news, but that's of course the developers choice. I wander why he didn't said that from the very beginning, and I'm glad the game didn't cost much long time ago.
Mainly because he didn't said that from the very beginning what people could expect from the product, I won't support him in the future. It shouldn't take that long time to conclude if it was possible to make the game fully accessible or not.

Best regards SLJ.

yeah. this is not surprising at all.  If I remember correctly, the guy actually came on here and complained because tons of people were emailing him asking for accessibility and he just wasn't interested.
If anything, I applaud him for taking a clear stance on this issue, rather than just ignoring accessibility requests, or talking about how he's going all the way to make the game accessible when it's clearly not.
I guess he did sort of express interest.

I'm probably gonna get banned for this, but...

Well glad I didn't bother getting the game lol

I'm really disappointed. I admit that there were some things that were never fully resolved but this is a great game when you get the hang of it. He seems to have done a few good things with accessibility lately so it's sad that that's going to stop. Still, I do agree with the post that said it's good of him to be honest and up front about it.

Everything is fine as of the latest update, the final bug was fixed so the only issues left are the same as in any Interactive Fiction game.
I personally have had no issues with accessibility and if I get time I will write a guide for voiceover players in the next few weeks.
Further voiceover support for the game is unlikely however I may continue updating to test accessibility and post here if it's safe to update.
