Long running emulation site *** has just removed all of their RoMs. https://www.***.me/emuparadise-changing.php

This is a big deal, EP was the only place to find some of the content, especially for a lot of the obscure platforms. So it looks like it's back to combing the net, looking through shadey as fuck sites and torrents that may not actually have what you want in them. This literally sets the entire emulation scene back decades. Fuck nintendo. Do not support them.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

Hi,
What will happen now, then? Will, perhaps, another site come to take it's place? This is sad, reading the comments there are so many people saying about this site having so, so many games that are no longer in print. That's what makes it all so sad to me. I hope either they come to some sort of compromise, or that another site can take it's place, even if it's for just the out of print stuff, or stuff not available in the US or EU.

While it may be a set back to you, from a strictly legal perspective those ROMs are copyrighted material and if the authors haven't declared them as abandonware or given them to the public domain, they still have the right to control how they are or can be distributed, and if this site wasn't authorized, it's basically piracy.

I had the same problem when I tried to set up an Apple II emulator. There were several, some of them very well done, but the system ROMs and images of disks with software on them to use with the emulators was often hard to come by and often required going to rather shady and questionable web sites. I eventually decided that it wasn't worth the risks involved with going to those sites and moved on.

this is very sad, and has more serious implications:
1. many of the lesser known consoles (particular pre famicom consoles originating outside the US) are only represented on EP.
2. on a similar note, some ROMs have been released to the public domain by their licence holders ages ago, and the death of ep is depriving us of access to ROMs that we rightfully have the legal rights to use direct from the horse's mouth. these include ROMs related to the atari jaguar, amstrad computers (including synclair computers), bbc micro, vectrex, and various japanese computers.

But why the holly fuck all roms were removed, when only Nintendo complained? Fuck this company!

If you want to contact me, do not use the forum PM. I respond once a year or two, when I need to write a PM myself. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Orco's technically correct, but if the games aren't even available *arcade machine companies have just sprung up to try and rectify this* but even then, it is just plainly hypocritical for companies to spend more time writing c&d's instead of release the stuff they pretty much allowed to become lost to time. Seriously. If it can happen for music streaming, it can happen here. I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks a month, or per game, for an copies of old games, if only these corporate bastards would actually sell them. Orco, as for your Apple 2 emulator, Jason did rectify that situation by releasing Mess Apple, a talking Apple 2 e enhanced emulator with talking disks that use texttalker. The rights to the disks have been secured *at least the ones from Microtalk plus a few other companies* and the only technically illegal matter is the distribution of the Mess Apple rom itself, although it's a risk worth taking since it's hardly likely Apple would come after one guy vs an actual majorly known website, and even if they did they'd be shat on for it as it isn't like they could get a lot of money out of him anyway and it would be just pure evil for the sake of such. Although, I wouldn't be surprised, as they did make a dick move to try and get an iPhone 3gs out of a Gizmodo reporter's hands, sending a swat team after him when clearly it was the fault of the drunk Apple engineer who left the iPhone inside a bar, and should've been fired on the spot for that if they really wanted secrecy. instead they just created an unnecessary brouhaha which let the cat out of the bag anyhow. But who am I kidding, they spend more time making a theatrical out of news we already know about than actually trying to get themselves back on a better path. Ok rant over.

could ep at least bring back the vectrex roms for criing out loud!

If anyone doesn't know already, there is a workaround:

Thank goodness for Reddit, plenty of gems there.

this  version lets you download the games just by pressing enter on the name of a game you want. https://gist.github.com/Eptun/2cc76f094 … un.user.js

It's not necesary to press right click, shift+f10 or the menu key/application key and navegate to the open in a new tab option. Just press shift+enter in the "Download using the workaround script" link.

How does that work? I've never used any emulators but would love to have access to ps2 and ps1 games.

Hey everyone. I'm trying to download ROMs from EP but seems that the script has stopped working... I wonder if is the browser, or the script manager? I use Tampermonkey. I have read that Chrome will work but I'm so used to Firefox.
Also, I've heard that The-Eye is a good option. I love open directories.
Edit: This page of the Emulation General Wiki is very useful. You could take a look to that.

Did you not read the opening post? EP does not have roms of any sort now.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

Nope, you're wrong. Actually they are still there. ROMs and ISOs are in *** servers. The only removed thing was the links to them. Did you know that EptunLP made a script for downloading them again? But that was the question for you all because the script has stopped working. Anyway, I found what I wanted.

It still works for me, just downloaded Soul Calibur 2 for Gamecube because the latest *development* version of Dolphin now has Netplay lobbies, making netplay even easier.
